Economically, these cars are going to be like big boats. One of the first questions you ask is how many hours on the engine? But they are at the bottom of their depreciation curve. In the US, F360s were selling for $75k in 2008. The average good car may now be $100k. Will a good F360 ever go up to say $200k? Probably as Millennials and X'ers start getting into the market. For many, a F360 was the first Ferrari they considered buying.

For now, buy it, drive it, and enjoy it. If you pour money into the car for upkeep, you should be able to sell it for what you paid.

Do the 55k 430's have 30k worth of deferred maintenance to catch up on?
How much is a 430 with headers, engine mounts, tail lights and F1 gearbox issues sorted?

I dunno. But as Roseanne Roseannadanna once said, "There's always sumthang." These cars are getting older, and Ferrari doesn't have a quality control program.

Anyone who thinks that the future will be different than the past, and Ferrari values will not crash again, is delusional. I dont know when it will happen but it will happen.

idk, several have sold at that price within the last few months, some of which had been freshly serviced prior to sale

it's not a bad thing imo, it gives people a chance to buy and drive the great ferraris of the last 20 years before things got a little silly for an affordable price and not have to worry about putting miles on them

this thread is why i only wanted a gated 360. am happy with what i bought, i enjoy it, and i know there will be an upside if i ever sell it. what the upside is who knows, but i won't lose money that's for sure.

The only cars that swing are the higher mileage Ferrari’s over 30k miles and F1 trans. Sure, some owners come into a cash crunch and need to liquidate fast but that does not mean those one are two examples are the market. Any collector in here of rare items understands market fluctuations on unique items. Sure, lots of 360’s were made but only 5k were built for the USA over 20 years ago. The 360 is just cool, sounds cool and looks cool. I will buy a 2nd one, I just like them and I guess because I wanted one so bad when I was a kid but I want yellow one now next to my current red one.

It's funny, in the teens anything >20,000 miles was "high mileage". Now people are beginning to say a 20 year old car should have at least 20,000 miles...

Not arguing the “it’ll be different this time” angle but there’s some significant considerations such as global wealth change, population increase from 5b in the 1980s to 8b now, etc that’ll have a meaningful impact on what a “crash” looks like and how extensive it may be. Mass production cars? Sure, they’ll be susceptible. But legitimately low production later cars (say 1:1 to 1:100) and any earlier cars with defacto low production numbers and hand made etc will experience things quite differently. Ultimately it doesn’t matter if you don’t want to or need to sell when things get soft.

Zero reason why the used car market would be affected first.

It happened last time in 2008. Not so much the hand bags but the big cars were put away.

360s can already be bought around 70k even for a good car.

As far as people having to sell off 360s.... Not really... Not too many financed them...

If you want to see that kinda action you will see it in mosern Porsche Lambo and McLaren. That is where it is currently being hit.

Any of the cars that had lots of buyers who financed.

    Or…

It was almost exactly a year ago that Sam Bankman Fried tanked the crypto market and there were lots of crypto-punks who used to be millionaires that suddenly weren’t…

The favorite car of that demographic is Lamborghini - and it’s hard to live in your car when it’s a Lambo - so the used market was flooded shortly thereafter and prices were down about 20%

    So it’s 2024 coming to a close
360’s are sitting here in Canada and not selling
    But
The asking price just went up on some of them. No extra work done, nothing, and suddenly the owners are asking more after months.
    Lol

360’s seem to be holding steady in the USA. The 430 has come down some also but holding steady. In my mind, 360/430/458 will probably be the best era of 8 cylinder Ferrari’s of all time due to the combination of the analog feel and modern looks. The 360/430 also have a very distinctive leather smell that is lost in the new ones. I have no idea why I like the smell of the inside of the 360/430 leather the most.

CAD to USD hasn’t moved much.
One car went from 159k to 179k
    Another from 172 to 179
I’ve been visiting them all and have an excel sheet going.
This is as close to not buying one I’ve come so far ;)
Just funny to me sellers are raising prices after sitting.

    Collusion?
    :)

Connolly supplied Ferrari until they went out of business in 2002 and then sold their remaining stock. That's what is in the 360 and I think there was enough supply for the run of the F430. There are other major contributors to the aroma from the foam composites in the seats, glues, and carpet. Same supplier for Aston and Jaguar who were also forced to switch so if you've been in older models from them you'll recognize it right away.

I'd guess inflation. Just give it a year. Those prices will seem like a bargain as the prices of new Ferrari's jumps in the States adn US buyers come a kockin'....
