Most articles Ive read comment on the seat height. Id imagine great after,markets eats will prob loose 30-50 lbs. The question might be how you get all the cars systems to handle the new seats. Thorax airbags and their disappearance for one.
Just passed the 500 mile break in barrier. Wow what a difference. It’s been several years since I’ve owned my 458 but from memory I think the Z06 sounds better, especially on the down shifts. This car has exceeded my expectations.
I test drove a 'C8 z06 3lz convertible' last week, great car for the money, it actually sounds better than my sf90. The good news is that they are becoming more common at msrp.
My car partner is at our dealer getting an oil change, and saw a smurf blue Z06 on the showroom floor. He talked to our sales person on the original C8, and they are down to $15k over list, and have 2 in stock, and 1 on the way available. All do not have the Z07 package which we don't want. They do all have the ceramic brake $9k option, so the lists are in the mid 130's. He's going to try to get them to take a look at ours for a quick ballpark appraisal, but getting closer to our threshold. He says the dealer hears from the factory that they have to take a car or two that day, so that is making for some excess inventory.
Yes it will. Ferrari is a massive amount quicker, but sound, usability, and user interface of controls Vette will take it easily. All comes down to your priorities.
I have a friend with both an SF90 spider and a Z07….he’s planning on selling the SF90…much prefers driving the Z07. Main reason is he hates the SF90’s user interface and so gets more easy fun miles from the vette and those are the keys that he grabs every time.
Image Unavailable, Please Login I picked up my 2024 red mist metallic tint coat/Jet Black Z06 on November 30th, 2023. It's a 3LZ with front lift and the engine appearance package with red engine intake. Compared to my F430, no one looks twice at this car. However, the 8-speed DCT is pure Valhalla. And the FPC DOHC 4-valves-per-cylinder direct injected engine is a delight. Interior is not in the same league as a Ferrari (any Ferrari) but who cares. This thing is a beast. I still have some Ferrari stuff left over that anyone in Orange County can have free if they come get it. Ray
Nice ride Raymond, make sure you close that frunk completely when you have it on your trickle charger or else the car will stay "awake" and you may drain your battery even with the charger on it. There is a pass-through for the charger cord up by the passenger side of the windshield to allow the frunk to be completely closed without pinching your charger cord. Enjoy!
My dealer said there is a fail safe shutoff that will protect your battery if the frunk is left open while charging. He claims it will work even if you leave your headlights on.
The accessories and lights shut off after 5 minutes and don't come back on. You can tell by opening the frunk lid after it has been open for 5 minutes: the frunk light does not come on. However, I am interested in knowing where the pass through is located. I'd love to go that route as opposed to the current Rube-Goldberg setup I am using. Thanks for the tip! Ray
I think you folks are over thinking the charging cable “issue.” Nothing is being crushed/pinched. Just run it thru the front and close the lid fully.
You're probably right. Just passing along info that my dealer gave me when I took delivery. It's still nice that GM actually thought about this issue when designing the car and gave us a dedicated path for the tender cable.
To clarify, lid was designed to be left slightly in the “one click” position expressly for the purpose of letting cable through while charging, GM reps confirmed this with folks at Corvette bash at Bowling Green museum. So let cable through, push lid gently down until it just catches, it will stay raised up around 1/4” or so, done. The other advantage of doing it this way is that the hood open warning alarm will sound when you try to put the car in gear, so in case you are in a rush and forget to unplug the charger before driving off, this will remind you.
Yeah. Depends on priorities. I really want to know if I accidentally start to take off when that thing is still plugged in, and leaving the trunk lid open a notch takes care of this. The nice thing is it there are several ways to do it, so everybody is happy.
