Looking for a 430 Scuderia. Out of town until Jan 2 but will be looking to buy one early in the New Year…. red and white are my first choices black, blue and silver next thx Chas
The only F that I’ve ever driven that I loved….I’m sure Chas will have a great ownership experience. Dustman, you really should go drive one…..is it fast in a modern sense? No, but it really fires up the nerve endings.
Maybe a stupid question but I am considering my first F purchase. Scud or maybe a 720S? Have always owned American but considering a change. Have neither an F or MAC dealer in town.
The Scuderia and the 720s are really different (from what I’ve heard from 720owners, no direct experience). You really need to evaluate if a super high level of performance (but sanitized as all modern cars are) is more important than a slower but more visceral experience). I buy the more visceral car because it has a level of performance I can access….they don’t make cars like that anymore. As far as service, you are still kind of stuck using the dealer with McLaren ( but getting better), while a good independent can easily service a Scuderia.
Red with stripes? The usual tech fabric or leather? When you put your foot down the brakes will be there...
Thanks. I'll be looking early next year and will be traveling to drive some cars as these particular cars are not common where we live.
have you had a CS? (for some reason I recall that, but may be mistaken). The Scud is a more powerful and far-better F1 version of a CS. Of the post year 2000 cars, imho they are the most that fit that description ("I don’t care about fast anymore. Drama, feel, connecting with the car."). Fwiw, I could have written that sentence, I likely actually have here over the years. The CS and Scud (and maybe a 550) are really the only F-cars that interest me due to that criteria set for what I'm after in a sports car.
What a crazy time we are living in when we don’t consider 0 to 60 in 3.1 seconds or 198 mile an hour top speed fast! Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
The Scud is where I draw the line when it comes to modern Ferraris. The enjoyment of the SF2 transmission is only second to the F355’s gated shifter.
