that was referring to US market, UK market always different, it's over supplied and hence one of the worst performing ones...good references are the Pistas, they are all under in the UK while over in the US
Well not really; take the Ford GT 05/06s (supercar),they have consistently been selling in the 400k dollar range (low mileage). Does not matter summer or winter they have been getting top dollar. The money is still out there.
Same. Love this color and the comments on BAT demonstrate that lots of other people appreciate it as well. It’s on my short list of colors should I spec another car.
The are not. They are primarily from customers who ordered both the GTB and GTS with the intention of keeping the spider. (At least 15 of the ones listed are that)
Sorry. Wasn’t familiar with that being referred to as a mule car. If that was what you referring to then you would be 100% correct. (I know as I just bought one of them and shopped almost every one listed).
Did you keep the F8? If I can ask, why did you sell the 765LT? I see/read that it's pretty stiff suspension, but so many reviewers exclaim that it's "the best car" they've ever driven.
a mule car can mean many things, dealers will come up with any excuse under the sun to make it seem like the customer was gifted the opportunity to own a car. A mule customer helps the dealer in many ways and they get to then sell a car at the forgoing market price. A mule is a "hybrid".... not a real customer per se, I do not mean that in a derogatory manner at all. Dealers do many things that makes financial sense to them, that's just the way the industry can work.

I traded the F8 for the 296. I go thru a lot of cars and only have space for 4-5 at a time. I’m actually looking to pick up another 765lt. (Coupes are closer to msrp again). Got rid of mine as it was jinxed and had a number of issues with it. The issues snowballed into other problems with the car and just bailed out (was actually able to make a nice profit for once, so it softened the blow). Loved the car but it was very “raw”. The suspension is stiff and it is set up more for the track than the road (other peoples opinions may differ). The 765lt was ridiculously fast but in my limited driving of the 296, the day it arrived, the speed felt comparable.
I dont get how 40 296's are already for sale. How many could have been delivered already? 200? 300? Why waste your time flipping through versus enjoying the car? This is not a good sign for this model, if it was that good people would be holding on longer. I dont get it.
From the few people I spoke to whose were for sale, they had every intention on buy both with the thought of there being 8-12 months in between the coupe and spider. They would drive the coupe while waiting on their spider. However the timing was shorter and they just put the coupe up for sale after the 6 month wait and drove the spider (and didn’t even drive the coupe). Another customer needed to buy the coupe in order to be eligible for the spider. If you notice most of the ones for sale are delivery miles only so I don’t th I it’s indicative of them being driven and not enjoyed but rather a mule or a flip.
I dont believe the GTS's have shipped in the US as of yet, supposedly next year some time. These are flippers, they got an early allocation and history shows you can make some money and the dealers are playing along these days. It cant be enough money to the buyer that it would matter but for the dealer it could add up. Problem is they've flooded the market so mark ups will be wiped out.
Yes, GTSs are being shipped and are being delivered. We own one. US based... What the above poster stated is correct. In the past GTBs came first then GTS's. The dealers required a GTB before you were offered a GTS spot. With the 296, allocations were available for the GTB and the GTS at the same time. I am sure in larger very competitive markets (Dallas etc) the dealers still wrangled the buyers into the GTB to get a GTS game and had them order BOTH at the same time. The GTB order went in first...was delivered first, GTS then arrives....GTB is for sale. Smart Ferrari owners never 'flip' a new Ferrari. If you do, you aren't offered more new Ferraris. Ferrari 296's are a massive success. Remember, Ferrari SOLD OUT of 296 allocations almost immediately when the order books opened. There are no more new 296 allocations unless Ferrari decides to make more cars. Ferrari won't given the other models they are producing and their capacity issue. Dealers have back logs of hopeful 296 buyers who want to order a new 296. Would be buyers who are 'speccing cars' now are going on the 'hopeful buyers' list not an actual order. The fun question is what will the 296 VS/ Pista etc cost? With the average MSRP for a 296 GTB into the $400k range wanna bet a 296 VS is in the $600k range...the effects of inflation and supply and demand on the pricing of everything is truly mind bending. Remember when $100k for a car was all the money?
A buddy ordered 296 GTS and GTB. He received his GTS a month or so ago and never received his GTB. Strange.
Primarily a success because anyone could get one and now this is what you have. I didn't realize the GTS is shipping already, I have received any updates on mine.
