The 5 things Jay feels Porsche does better than Ferrari,
    • Daily drivability
    • Wider range of vehicles for every scenario
    • Every car has great driving dynamics
    • Lack of Parts
    • Value (Lower end)

    I agree with these too!

I find him really annoying. His videos are 5 times longer than they need to be.

Ya know how when someone says: "That's guy I'd like to have a beer with!"? This guy ain't him.

I honestly don't care what he thinks or anyone thinks. The only thing that matters is what I think.

Definitely, although Ferrari has made huge strides in daily drivability and offers a similar range of vehicles— Roma, Purosangue, hybrid 296, etc.

Not sure about Ferrari styling post-Pininfarina. The GT 911s seem to have grown more badass (technical design term) while Ferrari has become more civilized. Now the 911 S/T is breaking the $500k price point, if you somehow know someone who knows someone with an allocation… Deja vu.

Ferrari quality remains a concern. From sticky plastics to fragile leather to DCTs that are less durable than expected, I have found Porsches to be better. Expensive but reliable.

I have had a far better experience with parts for classic Porsches. Too many NLA parts on Ferraris. That’s a weak spot.

But - Ferraris are still rarer. Except for the California, there are relatively few on the road here. Newer 911s are a daily sight, and Cayennes and Macans are everywhere.

Yes, schmee has become unbearable— like some giggly, weird, mentally unstable nutcase. Just very awkward to watch and listen now. He was ok years ago and watchable a little other than the silly, vibrating ‘cheeeers’ he’d end with but now it’s awful

There are plenty of YouTubers that I find grating and don't enjoy watching, but I don't really understand the antipathy I see in this thread. Those channels I don't like I just don't watch and assume that there's a different audience for them out there which doesn't include me. They're so far from my mind I don't see how I would develop such strong feelings about them.

I like JayEmm and Doug both, but I do agree that I'd never look to either of them if I was interested in learning about a car's driving dynamics. That's just not where their focus or skillsets lead them.

Ferrari does (hence why they loaned him a 296)

Dare I say, don't hate the player, hate the game?

Reason Number One to Own a Ferrari - I'm a secret Marist. My wealth embarrasses me. Owning a Ferrari is a socially acceptable way of redistributing my wealth to the proletariat.

    not a single marque guy. I race a vintage 911s currently a 67' 911s mostly in Norcal, drive a 98' 993 c2, a 14' 458 Italia, a 19' BMW M850 ix, a 16' Audi SQ5 and a 20' BMW Z4
Each is distinctly differently & serves our needs. The 458 is the last naturally aspirated V8 & most rewarding sports car I have owned, The 993 is the last air cooled and best refined 911 perfect for the mountains of Norcal & NC , The Sq5 is the last supercharged Audi & the fairly analog The M850 is the best riding front engine GT road car for me

each have their quirks, annoyances & rewards

is a Ferrari better than a Porsche? for who? don't answer that please

I enjoy his videos. While I don't agree with everything he says, at least he isn't trying to scream at the camera for 20 minutes or constant clickbait garbage. He just feels like a guy who you could sit around chatting about cars with for a few hours, and I like that.

The conundrum is do you follow these videos to affirm what you already know or to challenge your preconceptions.

Exactly. It’s all about preferences and they have a perspective just like we all do. I have respect for all the brands I just have always found Ferrari to be best based on the weighting of my own personal preferences. Just like pretty much everyone on this forum I’m able to afford most cars from these brands but I chose to own a Ferrari.
