The piazza photo is wonderful, thank you ! I can add two cars : Placido, most probably with 0044 M, DNF in heat 1 Siracusa, with an unknown 166, same fate. That could be another candidate for the number 20 pictured car, perhaps.
An update of this great thread seems overdue by now ! How about a tough one : on october 26th on the hills above Turin was run the Sassi-Superga hillclimb (also named Colli Torinesi). I have a report crediting Salvatore Ammendola with a Ferrari 2700cc, but I suspect this might be a mistake for his usual Lancia B20 (or perhaps a confusion for the 250 MM we know he raced later on ?) The real mystery however is Lorenzo Girard, who placed 2nd overall with a 2-liter Ferrari. The report placed him in the corsa class instead of the regular sportscar class. If true, I reckon that should be the 500/625 F2 he ran at Turin’s Valentino GP in 1955. Any photo to confirm this ? Do we have some background on Girard ?
As chassis I have 0184 F for the car Lorenzo Girard drove at the 1955 Valentino GP. This was the Ecurie Espadon car driven in 1952 / 1953 by Rudy Fischer, Kurt Adolff and Peter Hirt. Peter Hirt raced (DNF) in the 13° Großer Preis der Schweiz on 23.8 .1953 and entered (but DNA) for the 24° Gran Premio d' Italia on 13.9.1953. Chronologically this fits with Girard obtaining the car in late 1953.

François Picard brought the first 500 Mondial, but when de Oliveira crashed his 375 MM, Picard gave up his car to Ascari and became a spectator.

As for race #20 I highly doubt that was 0302 TF. Factory build sheets clearly identify 0302 TF as a 625 TF and not as a 500 Mondial. Marcel Massini
That for sure cannot be because 0454 MD was only completed July 1954, per the build sheets. Marcel Massini
It looks like there is another one of those curiosities. Barchetta.cc says this: Some sources believe that 00404MD was rebodied in an one-off Spyder by Scaglietti. If so, the car would have the results below. Other sources believe that 0406MD was rebodied in 1954 into an one-off Spyder by Scaglietti. Others claim these results for 0302TF as the car in question. As a matter of fact 0406MD was rebodied by Scaglietti in the 50's. But this mysterious car appeared at the 12h of Casablance in December 1953 for the first time, and therefore too early to be 0404MD or 0406MD.
Fantastic pics ! Many thanks Marcel ! Regarding the serial number of the #20, just speculation of course but why the engine of 0302TF would not have been replaced by a 500 Mondial engine ?
In April 2016 Ferrari Classiche confirmed to me that 0404 MD became 0466 M (250 Monza Spider Pinin Farina). Marcel Massini
The engine page of the build sheets for 0404 MD states that engine 0404 MD was built 15 April 1954. The build sheets for 0406 MD confirm that it was completed 8 March 1954. The factory issued the Certificate of Origin for 0406 MD on the 20th March 1954. The factory sold 0406 MD to Franco Cornacchia in Milan on the 1st April 1954. Franco Cortese raced 0406 MD at the XIV Giro di Sicilia on the 4th April 1954. Marcel Massini
