I have my car warming up outside now ready to go for a drive, but I just finished night shifts and feeling a little tired now sitting around so I may pass on that idea lol.

My goal is to do all the routine maintenance in one go, or as close as I can. As nice as this car was when I bought it, there was a lot of things that just needed attention. I want it safe, reliable, and working as intended. Then get in it and go anytime I want without worry.

    I'm excited for 2 reasons
    1) I really enjoy driving this car and wonder what the changes will do to it. And I can drive it harder as I knew it needed attention when I bought it.
    2) The idea of bringing it back correctly. A re-birth. A start from fresh giving the car a new life and added years. The idea that I am contributing to that.

So yes, I'm excited but also patient.

Your enthusiasm remains contagious. It reignites a lot of the feelings I felt when I got my car a decade ago.

I fully agree with what you are doing. It’s nice to restore a car just so that you can reset the clock to start putting your own patina on it.

I did the same with my car. I am only the second owner but the first owner clearly used cologne and every time I drove the car for the first year, my hands smelt like his cologne. Ick. Over that year I became obsessed with erasing every hint of the first owner just because of the smelly steering wheel. The car now scores 98 points at FCA concours. Who knows what the third owner will think.

It... is... ALIVE! I went over to the shop today and saw the Time Machine...The guys at Ogara did an amazing job.

Every rubber hose on the car was replaced. Most were the original and many just about to blow anytime. AND.... the AC works great! Just sitting there with condensor fan working the thermostat showed in the 40's. Should be even better with the car moving. You cannot tell when the AC turns on. The car is almost finished. Most likely it will be off the lift and running around tomorrow. Should have it home next week.

This movie is the car running with the AC on. The compressor is completely silent.

Sounds like you chose a great doctor for your side kick! We look forward to a video walk through of all the updates and a first drive go pro with commentary once it is fully completed!

Great stuff Bob! 328's are so great. Man, I love pre-88.5 models. This will be fun to drive around Vegas and I'm sure it will turn heads. You never see 328's on the road anymore.

The latest problem was that some years ago, someone replaced the AC drier with an aftermarket one. The pressure switch on that unit was different than the factory version so someone just cut the wires and soldered it. With the GT Car part kit came a new drier but no LP switch (because in most cases you just reuse the old one). So we've been waiting a few days for one to show up, which was today, and rewire it with the correct plugs.

Now the system is fully functioning correctly. Just with the condenser fan on, the internal temp is about 42 degrees -- better than I thought possible. This temp is actually LOWER than the test from the Chevy dealer of my Corvette C8. I'm guessing this is going to be as good as possible.

Today they went through some misc problems like fixing my emergency flasher button.

I'm super busy this week so I'm guessing I'll pick it up on Friday afternoon -- just in time for the crappiest weather of the year!

Yes but weather shows Las Vegas ambient High Temperature is 50F to 36F low and ambient affects the performance

They jumpered the LP because they now use a modern Binary switch with both LP and HP in one unit so only use the hp electrical wires.
By doing this you omit the old style "T" of pressure switch and Port and all of its fittings.
Fewer fittings, fewer leak possibileties, more reliable.

Glad this is going for you well.
Will you be planning a long drive to the Death valley Desert or the Hoover Dam for us to see?!

In the hottest days in Montreal jammed traffic this summer I was happy to have some cool air even if not super cold.
Like you said better than nothing.

It’s a really good car. Had mine 3 years now. It’s my daily. Taken it on long trips as well.

I’m on the list for a Z06 but will probably pass now that I have this and my Fiat Dino Spider coming. I’m moving old school.

Yes I understand, I'm myself mixed up between new and old school. I'd like something new with warranty and cheap maintenance like the vette but now I see the market is flooded with them. I can't afford too many cars so it's hard to make the right decision. I miss my Testarossa a lot too. The 328 is fun and easy to maintain too.

Brought her in to the shop a couple of weeks ago for the annual and fix a few things I found in the last year. The exhaust shield rattle no longer rattles. The horn works now. Fixed the heater control module and recharged the AC. Replaced one noisy idler bearing. Fixed a small oil and water leak. Oil service. Lastly they adjusted the FI.

I curbed a wheel and had that repaired as well.

Its amazing how good these things run when you get everything dialed in. Smooth idle, great throttle response, plenty of power. They are so much easier to drive hard when they run well. As far as I can tell everything on this car works now. Took a while but worth it.

A full tank of Shell premium in the morning sunshine on the Vegas Strip. Its a good day.
