The car runs around the block perfect then the the spark plugs foul. It sat for a couple months. All I did was change the alternator. Has a new fuel filter and fuel pump. ( 6 months old) Please help I have checked all connections and took off one bank and the car starts. Then took the opposite bank and she runs. The car was sitting for years before I got her and ran awesome before this.

Hello Johnny, I think you need to have a better description of the problem and what you have done before we (at least I) can make heads or tails of what is going on.

Fouled spark plug looks like he is babying the car too much or needs to use hotter plugs than the factory recommended ones.

Have you checked more than one plug? All plugs fouling is different than one. Both banks fouling or one bank? Check a plug on each bank, that will help direct further diagnosis. One bank ok? Perhaps a coil problem. All plugs fouling points to fueling issues, vacuum leaks, maybe O2 sensor if this particular model has the sensor.

The 1988 has very well developed fuel injection for emissions, and should run without fouling plugs no matter how the car is driven.

There is not enough info to diagnose this situation. Does it start ok? Idle ok? Revs drop too low when lifting off throttle? Etc. Also need to know if it a US or Euro (or Swiss) spec.
