yeah, not an F355 engine. Either the guy saw pics of the TBs on a 355 engine and assumed, or it's a 3.5 stroker and he assumed?

It’s long known about, it was offered to me a few years ago when in California. It was sold to a non enthusiast

In the 2021 eBay sale it had really nice coilovers with it, don’t see that now, I’ve reached out to current seller with questions but never received a reply.

I knew Theiler personally. He was a nice guy hated by many. He even kinda looked like "Doc Brown" in Back to the Future with similar hair. He did outlandish projects taking things to the most extreme but the clients needed deep pockets and patience. I have seen some of his "working" projects they were quite amazing. I also saw some Theiler projects that fell into disrepair not understood by the bread and butter mechanics that followed him and those cars really suffered. It was a racer's mentality willing to spend thousands of dollars for a 10th of laptime with clients way under the capability of the cars but wanting to lay claim to the limit of performance. Theiler was a really nice guy truely believing in the crazy paths he took. If you wanted sanity and some speed with compromise on time and within a budget you saw Joe SanPaolo literally next door to Theiler in the same building complex. He would build a hot motor in the typical way of the time. In my early days of learning Ferraris when I wanted to talk about theoretical limits I talked to Theiler. When I wanted practical answers to real Ferrari issues I talked to Joe. Joe of course ran a real business in Ferrari repair and did quite well before he retired.

I'd double that first number; if memory serves me right, the listing states the engine has been sitting for nearly 25 years.

I'd love to drop that engine in my 308. Too bad it's not proven to have ever worked.

There's no reason why it wouldn't work - So long as you throw a stupid amount of money at the project, that will be far more than the vehicle will ever be worth.

Paint wasn't stripped, it was never painted. Every panel on the car has been completely handmade by Theiler, right down to the metal inlay air-scoop on roof leading into engine bay. You could walk around the car for hours finding new handmade details with every pass.
