Interesting about how fragile those rims are.

I was watching this one because it was the most similar to my car in terms of color, miles and age that I've seen. However, my car, which I bought new, is in much better shape. The shrunken leather, poor rubber molding and what looks like sticky buttons made me wonder if this car was outside a lot? The windshield looked to be badly pitted as well. The 28K repair bill was eye watering. I haven't spent that much on maintenance and repairs total over 15+ years. I was surprised it brought this much. It looks like 190K is now the floor for a manual coupe. Hopefully the car is now fully sorted and the new owner will enjoy many trouble free years.

I bid this one up with the winner at the end, I have a feeling he was willing to go to $200, but I was not.

Professional quality photography helps too. It's really hard to find any faults or imperfections except perhaps for 5 owners which could have some impact.

I could care less about the number of owners a car has had, if it's legit that's all that matters.

That's a fare price for that color combo. Some people confuse rare with desirable when it comes to these things. I know a few here love this combo, but it's just not to most people's taste.

Also the car isn’t all original with things like the engine panels and radio changed to aftermarket. With factory 6 speeds I would think collectors want them as they rolled out the factory or they would just buy a converted car to drive. For the less collectible cars the aftermarket upgrades might add a little to the value or make it more attractive to a larger audience but for a collector they are a turnoff.

Was definitely expecting more action, but as you guys noted, more 'specialty' than special in the end I guess from a collectors POV

part of the reason why i buy from private sellers after a PPI. No pressure, single party dealings, etc. Am so happy with my car.

I thought the bid was high enough. The seller wanted a huge premium for the "unique" color combo. But the interior is unique for a reason. Most people don't like it. The mods were pretty dramatic and invasive.
