Thanks for inquiring Matt. I’m in the middle of moving shops so Ferrari is storing the car until I’m settled. I’ll post the moment I get it back. Tim
The “ultimate exhaust” requires a team of NASA engineers to install it, apparently. Kidding you, Tim! You know I think you’re the best.
My guess is it's important to get good video and audio of the exhaust because what's going to happen is the Capro cult will show up saying "oh that's not as good as the capristo."
Tim...amazing write up . Thanks Your system looks beautiful I'm about to order a system for my 348. Almost sold on the KSG I have 3 Qs. 1. How can one hear the 1 to 5 levels of KSG esp on 348 ? I'm not into too loud so might want level 2 and 3 or 2 and 4 . 2. Here in Australia we cannot legally drive without CATs. It took me a big hole in my pocket to get 348 CATs ordered by Ferrari. So how can I estimate what KSG will sound like with OEM CATs. 3. What happens with everything OEM factory incl. headers , manifolds, CATs to the KSG sound If one only installed the KSG Ultimate system Lastly would KSG be able to do a custom job where one can choose all levels 1 to 5 ? Wouldn't that be an amazing package ! Bottom line....with so many confounders of manifolds, headers , CATs , valves etc how does one invest so much money without any certainty of what the end somorous result would be ? Would it be best to buy everything KSG top to bottom as you did? If so what CATs to use ? Ps. be warned I'm not tech expert like most here Thanks Ashar
How many Capristo owners does it take to install a ksg? The answer is 5. One to work and the other 4 to dicusss how much better a Capristo is.
12. One to install it. One to wax poetic about how great it is. The rest to wait patiently for proof.
Sorry for the delay guys. It has admittedly been installed for months; but I’ve been unable to record until the Christmas Break. This is my first trek into recording audio so it’s far from perfect. I recorded the video for you guys; hence the inordinate amount of rev’s, etc. I wrote a comprehensive description in the YouTube comments. You won’t need me to tell you when I switch between sound level 2 & 5, but I still wrote it out in the description. Now that I have the amateur set-up; I plan to take a few videos of what it sounds like when the car drives by. I took it out to the country to record the video; unfortunately no tunnels. A tunnel video could be in our future though. Happy Holidays. Tim @Ferrarium @ShineKen
I think it sounds good, but the mic in the first video is way way too blown out to know for sure. Second video is “private”.
I’m doing this for the first time; so I’ll keep trying to improve. I’ll Unlock the second one. I have another mic coming with a windscreen. I’ll do my best. Tim
Leave the camera on the side of the road and do drive-bys. I don’t think it needs to be that complicated.
Thank you for the videos. To me it does not sound special or remarkable, though that may be caused by the way the sound was recorded. Just curious how high you were revving it in the first video as it does not sound anywhere near as high revving as a Capristo for instance? Drive-by videos are clearly needed.
Yup. We need the Doppler effect to get the full experience. Your audience demands drive-bys! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Camera 1/8 mile in front, accelerate towards it hitting red line, fly past. Then do it with camera in the back so we can hear it moving away from stand still shifting at redline for 1/8 mile or so. Redline shifts are key.
Probably around 5k. I just ordered two serious mics so we'll have another go at it. I've had a Cap 3 355 next to it; there is a distinct difference.
