I was OK with it, think it would have done better with you in a theater. The story and casting were weak, liked Harrison Ford, he didn’t mail it in. Really appreciated that they took the payoff as far as they did…..I thought they would break or lose the dial before it was used just to prevent it being used.

On the airplane I watched "Battle Los Angeles". Aside from my thinking that the aliens were doing us a favor in destroying the City, it has some pretty good action and an absolutely stupid storyline with ridiculous "eye rolling" plot holes that are impossible to ignore followed up with an cliche "climatic" ending.

In fact you can make a check list of cliches in this movie but you might run out of paper doing so.

    Hollywood today.... ugh.

Went to the theater and saw the new Ferrari movie. I was surprised at how well it was done.

Definitely worth 15$ and 2 hours of your time.

Interesting, 29 minutes into the movie Matt Damon is wearing a Carrol Shelby Cobra jacket.

Iron Claw, despite knowing the outcome very well done, earns the 89 Rotten Tomatoes rating.

Holdovers on peacock streaming. Disappointing movie. Had few quirky charms and giamotti is always terrific but corney and belabored. My 97 yr old mother in law enjoyed it though

It never should have been made & Vin Diesel really should retire from acting.

Saw “Oppenheimer” last night - boring plus they barely showed the bomb - it was all about the politics. Waste of three hours but it did burn up a low key evening - lol

Went ‘old school’ last night and watched The French Connection, had never seen it before. Thought it was pretty good the cinematography was pretty cutting edge for 1971.

Madame Web. After the horrible reviews, I was expecting a disaster. However, Eternals, Morbius and The Marvels were all much worse IMHO.

Tonight, we're watching the new Road House so I'll see how it stands up to the original.

Ghostbusters Frozen Empire. It's a very solid entrant to the franchise, with plenty for the fans of the original film. It's a direct sequel to Ghostbusters Afterlife, but you don't really need to see that movie to get up to speed.

Wow ... that says a lot! Madame Web is a 3.8 on IMDB  I won't waste the time to even search out a movie that low... that's in the range of Gigli! Even Ishtar has a higher rating!

I had never seen this movie before although its a classic and I knew about it. Its Fritz Lang's "M" from Germany in 1931. Stars a young, pudgy and almost unrecognizable Peter Lorre.

What's interesting is its a crime-in-a-crime caper. The cops crack down on the Berlin Mafia while trying to find a serial child murderer, and the mob decides to find him first and put and end to the cops meddling in their business. So for a film involving a subject as horrible as child killing, its actually rather interesting to watch what happens as various groups try to find him.

For its time, it must have been completely shocking. Even today the depiction of this guy stalking children and the reaction of their mothers is not easy to watch. Yet its still contemporary in the depiction of a man who hears voices and can't control his urges. The things he says as he tries to explain himself would be written and acted the same way today, as are people's different reactions to his reasoning. Some people want complete and utter revenge for what he did, others see him as merely mentally sick. Its deeper than your usual crime drama.

We have the exact same debate today 95 years later.
