Team Roosevelt Racing Cars

Wow that is so funny, I was talking with my sister yesterday about what happened to our father's car after the auction. It had a happy life in a small town in North Georgia over 63 years ago. The population of the town was about 400 people. The Ford dealer said "J.W. I would rather see you riding a bicycle than driving one of these foreign cars". Everyone thought he was crazy to race these cars.
Does the owner ever show it anywhere on the west coast. Those are great photos.

 

My Dad would be so happy you guys are still having fun with it. He use to love running it at the Chimney Rock Hillclimb in the early 1960's. I met the owner that put it up for auction a few years ago a Lime Rock.

 

That Tall man in the suit is FDR jr. roommate from college. That is where my dad got his cars. His name is Herschel Harkins. Out of Ashville NC. Great find.So he and FDR jr. were in college that is how the connection started.

 

This is the Team Roosevelt when it was found and restored then years later sold a Bonhams. It has come a long ways.
