Not decals. The seat tissue in the kit is an ordinary coloured photocopy in ordinary copy paper to be glued to the seat with water based glue. Usually known as white glue for wood. The wet paper assumes the shape of the seat perfectly and in a matt finish. I cant see a better result than this!
Not Decals. The kit has this tissue printed in the paper instruction sheet. Only need to cut it out with a scissor and glue it to the seat with wood glue ( white glue, water based ). The wet paper sticks to the seat and it reproduces the shape of the seat perfectly and in a matt finish. The final result is very realistic
IXO will start marketing these 1/8th scaler Hachette magazine subscription model kits under their own name now. Spot Model and other European vendors have them listed. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've seen comments written about the Bugatti's windshield opening being too tall; that's shame, the rest of the model looks well done.
Did I see a while back that IXO will make a Ferrari 330P4 in this series? Or did I imagine it?. Best to all. Mark
They did a F40LM, 312T4 and many others. They are doing a P4 now via subscriptions in Italy and maybe a few other countries? Sooner or later IXO will get them I bet.
So, the million dollar question is: How do we get them in US and how much would they cost? yes, I know it's actually two questions...LOL
IXO does not have Ferrari license , so they will not be importing. Only other possibility will be Agora, they will be bringing the Centauria 250GTO in 20-24, but at a premium price unfortunately, most of their complete kits are over $1,500.00 US now.
Brady Ward, the guy Pocher / Hornby won't allow to be an official dealer because he has no brick and mortar presence, has started to bring in the Ixo models. He's based in New Hampshire. http://www.scaleautoworks.com/
I have the 917- it’s a really good model that came together really well Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Yeah, seems like a nice side hustle could be made from importing these kits. But it would require a partner in Italy and setting up a distribution system.
This 1/8 scale of a 1963 Corvette Split-Window by Agora was just posted in another thread this morning: https://www.agoramodels.com/us/1963-corvette-sting-ray/?utm_source=Facebook+ad&utm_medium=Facebook_Desktop_Feed&utm_campaign=Conversion+-+Winter+2023/4+-+Canada&utm_content=Conversion+-+Winter+2023/4+-+Corvette+-+video&utm_id=120202041220120406&utm_term=120202041220380406&fbclid=IwAR2ry3E2npOkhmwAVdg73bCNmW9qQaTvAwIGWyl-RPyfo8gHTq_I7i5a064 My big question is what the final cost would really be? Some of the wording seems vague. I'm estimating in the range of $1,600 to $2,100 depending on which option is selected. Comments? They also have a 1/8 LaFerrari listed.
The Agora Corvette has been available for several months now; I subscribed to it initially but was disappointed in the body paint quality; the hood had a metallic buildup and was blotchy. When I requested a replacement they asked for photos, and was told it was' acceptable' so no replacement would be sent. Subscription cancelled. Agora models complete total around the $1500=1600.00 range plus shipping costs.
I'm on Month 6 of the La Ferrari... have not started the build yet. My only complaint has been waiting... I wish you could do the build in 6 mos...
This model also has working Headlights, tail lights, and engine noise.... its not that loud but sounds ok.
Good to know this, and sorry for the experience you had there. I realize that Agora is are a fairly large business (has to be, to invest the high $$$ to produce these kits) and really for them, it's just about making money. Their arrogant attitude/response regarding the paint issues is very telling, and not in a good way!
Thanks Marshall; I still want that Corvette, it's the exact color scheme I wanted, maybe I can find a professional painter to refinish the body for me , I'll wait until the complete model is available then decide.
How about this pre painted 1/12th Hachette kit for your Ferrari collection. They used this type of truck for the Ferrari F1 team. They are also doing the Lancia 037 Martini and Stratos Alitalia 1/8th subscriptions now in Italy. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Coming soon in 1/20th scale from Alpha Model. They do very nice resin model kits. The only problem I have seen was on the Ferrari SP2 1/24th scale. They did not make the wheels directional, and I told them about it many times. They also screwed up on shipping and sent only 1 model kit when I ordered 2 SP2 kits!! Still waiting for the second kit to be shipped after 45 days. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I’ve just recently discovered the world of vintage 1/43 models. Anyone here know where to find any for sale besides eBay? Looking for kits that were professionally or highly skillfully built - and have some age / story to them.
Hi, I have some very old 1/43 models, unfortunately I'm going too old and I wish to find a new home for them, some are free (I dismounted the others to make real models with correct reference and they take a lot of time to modify and so I will sell them on e-bay) if you are interested let me know. Many of the free models are John Day incomplete but nice......All the best, Alessandro
