Max has more wins(54) than Ferrari(51) since 2007.......when Max was 10 years old.
Isn't that a hard pill to swallow. Ferrari has had no shortage of driver talent and yet they have wasted it all with mostly uncompetitive cars, bad strategies, or always losing the development race. Perhaps what is worse is despite how slim the chances were, there was a glimmer of hope that a Ferrari champion would be crowned during that time. And it happened several times.
Exactly. Ferrari's biggest failure of them all was managing to screw up signing Newey. That was genuinely impressive how they accomplished that.
According to Newey's book, Ferrari offered him to be the head of the racing division and the road division as well if he wanted. Basically they offered him Maranello ( along with more than double the salary of what he was being offered elsewhere). But Newey said that he didn't really want to leave England, and his family / partner didn't want to live in Italy . So i'm not really sure what else Ferrari could really do to get him?
He was about to sign the deal but had a low level (at the time) employee to do the deal with the signing. Newey took this as a sign of the new CEO not being interested enough and left.
Ahhh, Mark Hughes loves to crap on Ferrari, my bet it's nonsense then. It would have been in Newey's book if it happened as he goes into detail about the Ferrari offers.
Very difficult to believe this. I heard this rumor too and the low level employee was Gino Rosatto if I remember correctly.. Difficult to know the truth I guess..
Max has started his year, winning the iRacing Daytona 24. 1 lap clear of the next car. --- I did the Daytona 24h as well this weekend, we started on Friday however instead of the Saturday. 2nd split (so very high), we finished on the podium with 63x for the team, 3 laps down on the leader, same lap as P2
Thanks! The 0x for Max was a mistake, they did 74x as a team, just the stream I was watching showed the wrong info (as a spectator you don't get given all the info). So in that regard we are better than Max
thanks! We really had good pace. Wish we practiced more now as we could've won Was looking at how much higher rated drivers have done and we are either matching or beating them, so clearly we're doing something right
He’s a security/bodyguard type. Had the same role when he went over to Gérard López’s Lotus-Renault. Then he eventually went back to Ferrari.
they where shambolic before it as well. The worst part is...they didn't even learn anything from his time there. That's the biggest disappointment
Anyone remember Nick Fry? He was ex-Mercedes Chief and started at Honda then BrawnGP which later became MercedesAMGF1. This is what he what he said so take it for what it's worth. Fry said " Max Verstappen would still win in a sh** box."
