On a similar note, my apartment building in Melbourne is getting the cladding replaced. I was on a Zoom call with the building team this morning and we were trying to work out a start date. One of the team said we had to coordinate it with the CFMEU calendar which was sent around. I wasn’t really surprised by some of the annotations

No, the CFMEU are neither F-wits or lefties. They are an organised extortion operation who are very skilled at intimidation, bullying and violence. Their purpose is the pursuit of power and wealth for their leadership and, in distinct second place, their members.

Disrupting civil society (e.g. "invasion day") is just one tactic.

I spent 20 years doing developments in Melbourne and have experienced CFMEU methods first-hand. Even ALP ministers are scared of them.

My niece, after getting into law at QUT, decided to change and do arts at Melbourne Uni. She's so far left, now, she'd think Kerrari is a fascist. Great fun to bait, though - this year, it's "I stand with Israel", last year was "Vote No".

 

What is she studying?

 

Arts/Law majoring in Social Justice Warriors

 

My grandaughter is doing law and accountancy majoring in greed

I know, funny thing is she is going to live in a prestigious on campus residential college which the Bank of Dad will finance at $40k/year but she is a full blown leftie (at the moment) . Told her that will change when she starts paying a mortgage

 

And I told her if I see her on TV chanting "Free Palestine", all funding will be withdrawn

 

She will learn ,work hard ,well paid and enjoy the benifits, the left few end up with any of life's pleasures ,

 

It’s interesting how many kids of well off parents become full blown lefties.
I have a couple of mates whom have done well in life and all of their kids are huge climate change SJW types, hate capitalism etc.

Conversely, the kids of friends and family who have had relatively unprivileged upbringings seem to be much more connected to the real world and think most of that stuff is a bunch of BS.

Go figure.

 

Being a lefty is a stage people go through between 16 and 25. Most move to the centre as they gain life experience. A significant minority (10-20% ?) never move on, hence your green/left voting block.
