    I would like a 550/575 steering rack (PN 170858) for a project but am nervous about buying a rebuild rack given horror stories I heard about unending leaks/never ending seeps

    Any advice on the best place to source?

    Sourcing a used rack carries risk of not knowing the condition of the rack / pressurized.

    AWitalian has rebuilt racks but no experience personally.

    Waiting to hear back from Maranello Classics.

    AW Italian has a good reputation for rebuilding Ferrari steering racks…they’ve been doing it for years.

    I won’t hesitate to use them when the time comes.

    AW Italian Auto Parts in Eatontown, NJ is still very much alive and well. They have an impressive inventory of Ferrari parts and their prices are competitive. Their sales team is helpful and knowledgeable.

    I wanted an extra rack (long story); on topic... I purchased 170858 from AWitalian and will post how it goes when I get it.
