Interesting. Obviously your prerogative but that's not a trade I'd make. The scud engine/shift combo is uniquely special, I couldn't get the buzz from turbos. Good luck though - it's a great car
Its not the black XP that was listed in Austin by chance? Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Any ideas on where a black/black 16M with 16k miles would sell for? Factory stripes, full carbon, 16M special wheels. I’m looking to sell mine. Car is located in SoCal.
Was this Tim's car previously, or are you the original owner? I'm guessing exterior and interior condition as well as previous owners is going to drive the price, but 300-400K seems a realistic initial range to consider.
This was not Tim’s car. I am the third owner, bought it from my friend less than 2 years ago. Car was originally from SoCal and now still in SoCal.
This link doesn’t work anymore. So did Chicago Motor Cars have Ed Bolian’s Scuderia? I assume it didn’t sell then Marietta of Georgia bought it, put it up for auction, for some reason it didn’t hit reserve at $190k (shill bidding?) and now it’s listed for $190k on cargurus 2 weeks after the auction. What’s the communities thoughts on this car? It has a $3,500 paint job (yes, $3,500 for everything but side skirts…), cheap peeling PPF, Re-stained seats, excessive interior and exterior wear, and a notorious past owner (Ed) who makes his money by showing himself beating up super cars and fixing them as cheap as possible. 44k miles now It has 700 miles on it since Ed Bolian sold it. I have serious doubts on its mechanical condition based on how beat up it is and past ownership. It also needs new exhaust system since it has oem headers and cats still. I think -$30k for the cheap ($3,500) aftermarket paint, -$15k for needed repairs, -$10k for excessive interior wear. That puts the car at $130-140k or so. No wonder why it hasn’t sold from two dealerships!! https://sothebysmotorsport.com/auction/2009-edboliansgrigiosilverstone-ferrari430scuderia-834 https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/vdp.action?listingId=362569830&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=d1134#listing=362569830/PRIORITY/DEFAULT VIN:ZFFKW64A790169461 Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
There is nothing seriously wrong with stock exhaust manifolds and catalysts on a Scuderia. The only known issue is the exhaust manifold flanges can warp and leak. $2k per side can get them reground, new studs and gaskets is a permanent fix.
Ah, thanks. Good to know the scud doesn’t have that exhaust issue. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I think its a damn shame anyone would order such a stunning car in such a boring paint color, thats what i think of it... a little rougher cars i tend to prefer personally, as you dont feel as guilty using it or putting some harder driven miles on than when its a perfectly preserved show quality car... Wether id want an ex Ed bolian car is another matter, although a predicted 30K for a respray to me is hella overpriced, ive resprayed a couple of my older cars, but never even got close to 10K for a paintjob, let alone 30k....
I am in the Midwest and any high-end reputable shop is $20-30k for a full car paint job. The cheapest shops I can find are $7-10k. Materials and labor have skyrocketed in the last 3 years; when were you last shopping for paint jobs? A front bumper repaint for my F430 and 599 were both $3,000-4,500 for the name brand place in town (which mainly does Tesla paint since they’re Tesla approved). $30k reduction from normal market price was not just my guess for just the respray, but also diminished value for not having factory paint. Specifically referring to the Ed Bolian car in question. I’m sure $20-25k is where a shop would be at for a factory level super car repaint. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Ed Bolian’s Scuderia (the one for sale and in question) has literally a $3,500 paint job on it…. He’s known for doing the cheapest repairs possible and posting it on YouTube, and buying the cheapest car possible. There are extensive videos and articles written on his cheap overhaul of the car. I devalued it for the cheap paint, wrap, interior repairs, interior damage, and so on by $50k or so. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Wow....3,500 for an entire car paint job is very cheap! That's about what I paid for my bumper and hood and I delivered everything off the car without any components, and then did the re-installation! (and then the fresh ppf was another grand). And I thought I was getting a deal! I'm sure glad I don't have to sell my car! I'm sure I'd be pretty disappointed lol!
The full respray (everything came off) on my Pantera GTS was $60k. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
I need to get a better picture of the car, but stunning for sure! Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
Thoughts on this Scud and final selling price? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2008-ferrari-430-scuderia-33/
I'd say 225ish with current presentation/damage history (minimal?) but additional challenge is that Hawaii means expensive shipping unless new owner is local. Really needs clutch/brake info on the listing
