For the same reasons, when I started this journey, I was only looking at GTBs. I was tired of the lack of stiffness. But, when I drove the 488 spider, it remedied my concern. They say 25% stiffer than 458 spider, which I believe.

You will definitely feel the difference, it's very obvious that the chassis was stiffened compared to the 458. Every other improvement is also immediately obvious. Unfortunately the one disadvantage is also very obvious! :(

I can empathize with this change, at least in terms of build quality... 458 to 488 was a huge step up IMO, from 488 to current models I haven't really noticed a major upgrade in feeling "solid" versus what I notice every time I sit in 458 and 488 models from fit, finish, buttons, just about everything

The power band is more fun at lower speeds, lower revs around town, and the sound is cool like rolling thunder from the turbo engine

Aside from NA engine, the 458 just feels like it can dance a lot more, lighter on its toes, versus how planted the 488 feels

    Both are incredible

I’ve owned 458 and 488. The 488 feels much more planted and confidence inspiring, especially the front end. The brakes also feel better on 488. 488 also feels considerably faster. In my view I don’t understand the comments about the sound; the 488 sounds great. There was a gap in time between my ownership of a 458 and 488, so I’d need to hear them back to back to really tell the difference. It’s all subjective of course..
