In the Marchetti meet photo, the yellow X1/9 belonged to my wife Sue. I think that is her standing behind the Fiat. Marcel is correct, all of today's American Ferrari enthusiasts owe a big thanks to Joe Marchetti. He was one of the "trail blazers" who established Ferrari in the States. He had the ability to make everyone feel "special" and so well cared for at his restaurant and events. What great cars passed through his hands over the years. Sadly, he chose to not keep any of them and he got wrapped up in some financial and personal dealings that caused the eventual downfall of most of his business activities and then encountered terminal health issues. Just a great man, I smile every time I think of him and the Como Inn.
Not really from the net – my photos. 0514 M in 2002(I think!) before restoration and in 2018 and 2019 after restoration. The engine on the stand is 0514 M and engine 0584 M is in the car. I understand the restoration had started in 1999 already and went thru at least 2006. Would you have a photo showing engine number 0584 M on the block (in the car)? Thank you. Marcel Massini
That first photo could be a lot older I'm sure I have a photo of the block somewhere - failing that I should be able to get one.
This is a screenshot from a video when the engine was first fired up. It's all I can find at this stage. Image Unavailable, Please Login
