So I want to report back. I was able to source the seals from our families company that uses a lot of heavy machinery and orders a ton of parts for those machines from overseas. The main output shaft seal was not terribly hard to get and it’s a fairly common seal (which was the seal that was leaking) but the seal/cap that covers the end of the output shaft (which u have to puncture to do the job) was very difficult to find but I did find them through the supplier of our machinery parts. They had to come from Italy. Long story short, once I had the seals it was a pretty easy and straightforward fix thanks to the shop manual being pretty easy to follow for this repair. If need the seals PM me. The repair took me about 2 hours and about 30 mins of that was messing with the ridiculous under tray removal/reinstall (huge pain on a two post lift!) Have driven twice now, one of the times about a 15min spirited drive, and no leaks! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Hi, I have exactly the same problem with the oil seal. Please tell me what parts need to be purchased for repairs. Special thanks for the replacement instructions! If you look at the diagram from the SLS AMG, then as I understand it you need a part A1974660105 + A0159973046 ? (20+30 on screen)
If the parts are interchangeable you would need what looks like part #20 in your diagram and the output shaft seal which isn’t listed in your diagram. PM me if you need them. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
