I have Peacock, but I'm watching it on the regular NBC channel. Commercials aren't bad and some of them are even split screen with the action.

Congratulations to Risi for finally breaking through at Daytona. And it shows that the 296 GT3's teething troubles from last year are a thing of the past.

Congratulations also to Penske for their first Daytona win in 55 years! I remember their upset win in 1969 with Donohue and Parsons in the Lola T70 after all the Porsches broke.

Just thought one of the drivers on the podium should have said “This one’s for Mr Rissi” Never heard it

I’m very happy for Penske and Risi. Well done by both.

Am I reading the timing sheets correctly that Af Corse missed winning GTD by about three seconds? Damn!

    Usually it will be here:
    https://www.imsa.com/weathertech/results/

Looks like they only have practice results up for some reason. But you can go to all the different seasons, races and sessions to see that info if you are nerd like me.

I surprised no one has commented on the finish. They announced the white flag and threw the checkered instead. Everyone from drivers, crew and tv people were confused. Probably would not have changed anything but you never know.

It was harder than I thought for Porsche to win a big IMSA race. Let see what they can do in WEC.

Not surprise about Ferrari winning in GT though; their car is superior to yje rest of the field to the rest, IMO.

I found it last night. It is very interesting comparing drivers how many laps they did and their best laps. Even more relevant would be average laps. We have a local gentleman driver that doesn't do any races except Daytona 24 every year. I suspected since they were running high as 3rd in LMP, they ended up finishing 4th, that he wasn't getting much time. He wasn't bad as I suspected, best laps 2 seconds off the teams top drivers, but his times comparable to other amateur drivers. He also did 150 laps or so.

The AMG was in control though more than the time indicates.

    Nick Boulle?

If that is who you are talking about he is a very good am. Qualified 2nd right behind Ben Keating....who is also a ridiculously good for being an AM at his age.

yes and I don't think Nick races the rest of the year. Nick wasn't the qualifying driver, I believe it was Tom or maybe Smiechowski who was 2 seconds faster than Nick.

haven't heard an official explanation (excuse?), but I'm guessing miscommunication between race control and flag stand.

weird, but didn't really make a difference in any of the categories so they got away with one.

imagine if this had been with last year's P2 battle...

Yeah he usually only does the 24. Eric Lux is another one who is a really fast AM but usually only does the Rolex. He ran the Endurance rounds last year. Not sure about this one.

Nick did qualify btw. I believe a bronze has to qualify in LMP2 per the regulations.

oh ok, that makes sense, at least pros aren't mixed in with the amateurs qualifying. that qualifying time is good.

Or was it the year before with Pfaff and KCMG in GTD pro? More often than not there seems to be at least one battle going down to the very end.
