550 Gear Indicator?

Ooohh I had that light appear on my 550 when it got hot and all excited.

What does it mean on a manual car ?

Is it possible that the display be connected in some way to the ODB2 ? I'm not sure for the 550, but typically the ODB2 can provide car speed and rpm (thus allowing the sort of calculation needed).

 

Or sometime going south with speed sensors

Sounds good but the car was stationary. It was getting hot in an hours queue for the ferry.

 

Any update on this, I think its a cool tweak if we can figure out the HOW?

 

It only ever comes on when the car is running really hot - ie stuck in traffic in august !

I believe the car does have an OBD port so i might buy an OBD 1 to 2 Connector and leave it the car to check next time it gest all excited.

 

Maybe the second part of my post ..the speed sensors getting hit and bothered

Make sure your fluid level isnt low / dont have a gear box leak / leak in the oil cooler system / do a flush.
