I think I need to replace my door speakers on 2005 F430 spider... best brand to look at? want it to look factory so need same size.. thanks
Hey there Happy New Year to you Mike and to all here....Yes new resolutions to spend less. I learned from you hehe
The answer is simple... Scuderia Audio sells quality replacement speaker kits. With optional custom tweeter pods (which replace the oem ones so that the tweeters aim towards you), the total cost with shipping is just under a grand. Plus, they come with everything you need as well as product/install support. You can't go wrong.
Sorry I'm not looking to spend 1k for 2 door speakers. I perfer to keep it simple....Unless Mike32 wants to lend me some money
You didn't read correctly. I said WITH the optional tweeters and custom mounts it would be LESS than a grand. It's much less without the tweeters, but why would you not replace those too? You find there is no direct speaker-onky replacement since the oem speakers contain electronics (and amp?).
well I replaced the speakers between the seats very easily with Kennys directions. So i guess your saying this isn't possible to do with the door speakers? Electronics isn't my thing so I didn't really wanna complicate it
Having a red cross parcel delivered to your posh house would not do your street cred any good, i believe you are known as a miser anyway.
I am running Audison apk165P in the front doors or my 360, run off a Addison Sr4.300 4 Chanel amp with two of the channels and the other 2 channels running a pair of JL 6 inch microsub enclosure's behind the seats. This absolutely bangs the tunes out wether the roof is up or down. The quality of sound is amazing and crystal clear vocals with a very deep sub bass if needed!! The Amp is small enough to hide behind the passenger foot rest next to the battery.
I had my door panels off few times now.... replacement of the speaker is trivial. Just find the same size speaker with similar impedance rating and you're good.
i just went and got some Kenwood speakers from Best Buy and popped them in. No sense in spending big $. The difference in sound difference is negligible for most people between a $100 speaker set and a $1000 speaker set.
FYI you can install the most expensive tweeters known to man in the stock black plastic triangles and they'll still shoot the sound straight to the other occupants' feet. Just sit in the car with the doors closed and notice the off angle. At that frequency, you'll barely hear them. IASCA (International Auto Sound Challenge Association) competitors mount their tweeters at a precise angle to shoot the sound straight into the occupants' faces for perfect stereo imaging. It makes you feel "immersed" in the sound. Once you hear this, you cannot go back. The Scuderia Audio kit includes exact duplicates of the stock triangles, except that the tweeter is mounted at the correct angle. Furthermore, since you cannot purchase the stock triangles anymore, once you modify your stock pair, you're screwed when it's time to sell the car. Folks who purchase the Scuderia Audio kit just pull off their stock triangles, store them for when they sell the car, then push the hyper directional tweeter pods (with the tweeters preinstalled) into place. Additionally, the kit comes with electrical connectors that they designed (which are not available anywhere else on the planet) that will save you from cutting off the stock speaker connectors in the doors. There's more to their kit than meets the eye.
The scuderia audio kit also includes replacement crossovers, which are built into the oem speakers. Without them, any aftermarket speaker will sound worse than oem. When you think about what all comes with the kit, it's really a bargain, and thus a no-brainer decision. You paid 100k+ for a car, you might as well replace the speakers with something that will help uphold its value.
I got some from scuderia audio they worked great were reasonable. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
A standard 2 way full range speaker is more than adequate for these cars. I’m pretty sure buying a $1000 set of speakers isn’t going to uphold the value of the car.
Keep in mind that the OEM speaker grills are part of the OEM speakers. Unless you go with a well designed, well thought out system, the new aftermarket speaker grills will look aftermarket at best and will not match up with the door panel at worst.
Exactly. Then you get into the situation where the aftermarket speaker is either too far from the grill (and you lose sound), too close to the grill (where you run into excursion problems) or the speaker basket and/or the magnet interferes with the door itself.
So I decided to go with a JBL Club 622 6 1/2 speakers for the doors. Glad I did it as the sound is 300% better. Super easy install. The dome actually points upwards toward you. The speakers fit perfectly with the oem grill. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Happy New Year LorenzoR: You can't go wrong with JBL speakers, and It looks like you did a first class job of installation, as always! Looks like your still enjoying your new vehicle, with those snazzy new wheels you installed! All the best, johnfe
