Car was being well tended by one of the best in SoCal
Hello everyone! After a long journey through the authorities here it comes! Keep an eye on it. It will start tonight The following Information is from Bill Noon: Image Unavailable, Please Login Welcome my friends to another very special Bring-A-Trailer Ferrari Dino auction! As many of you are aware and I have shared previously, all Dinos are special… …and some Dinos are more special than others… …and some are most certainly Dino Specials! This most certainly is a “Dino Special" like no other you will ever encounter again! For those that are not aware, John Corbani was by all accounts, one of the most interesting individuals you might ever encounter. He was a prolific inventor and held numerous patents on an endless number of inventions as well as a highly successful engineer and entrepreneur. He became fairly well-known in a variety of Ferrari collector circles after his purchase of this Dino in 1986. He was an early and frequent contributor to the original Ferrari history specific “Telaio” chat site and later the Ferrari dedicated chat site, “Ferrari Chat” and after this death 2009, his postings were honored by being permanently preserved. To this day, they can be found and easily accessed here: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/forums/corbanis-corner.189/ Almost a year ago, a client in Germany asked us to assist him with the sale of "The Corbani Dino.” We were more than honored to do so and, while it took longer than expected, we are finally here and able to present this incredible machine with all of our friends at Bring-A-Trailer. There will be so much to share over the next fourteen days and I will have much more to post here a such. I encourage all who are able and interested in doing so, to arrange to come to the San Diego showroom for direct inspections and test drives that will leave you in awe at how a slightly modified and finally tuned Dino can actually perform! And while many have speculated, it is as far as we are aware the single highest mileage Dino known to still exist. As of the start of this auction, this Dino has covered just shy of 215,000 miles and there are plenty more left in her with nothing but more endless miles of smiles for the fortunate new custodian! Many thanks again and best of luck to everyone! Bill Noon

All the best to you all ! Ralf
There was a hiccup with BAT's bidding system which blocked bids, and BAT has offered to re-run it. The sale still may be concluded without being re-run.
Major bummer - I would have gone nuts at the end of the auction. Good to hear it's going in the right direction. Keep us posted...
Has this engine had three oversize rebuilds and there is no more? The next will be the super big money perhaps
Hello Ken, Hello All, Ken you are right, i was a little shocked that there was no one who was able to give John`s Dino a new home and acknowledged the value of this peace of Ferrari-History in every sense. All i can say now is: thanks to everyone’s sympathy for my „Johns Dino“! I plan my next holiday now and i think it will be an extended westcoast John Corbani memorial trip wit my Dino. It can be possible that some of you meet us on the road….before we go back together to germany or, much better, we find a new home together in California or Arizona. Thank you All!
Good morning Sergio! Everything the research about the history of my „Johns Dino“ shows , as far i know, that John bought the Dino from a dealer who got it from the first owner. John rebuildet the engine One Time in 2005! I did never touch the engine, we just adjusted the Webers very carefully. So, for my understanding there has to be no worries about to rebuild the engine one more time. But as good enough i know my Dino by power, compression and strongness that will take another x-thousand miles some day in the far future. Cheers Ralf
Did anyone think that the "John Corbani" history adds value outside of this virtual room? Look, it's an interesting car, with a TON of miles on it and a lot of modifications done by John, and I think that is what held the bidding down more so than some "glitch" on BAT. Bill was very open in his description of the car. I'm sure there are dinos that have been sold with odometers that have turned over as sub, 40,000 mile cars. Bill didn't do that. Of course, John was very public about the use, miles and modifications to his car, so it might be hard to do otherwise, but I think Bill was just doing the right thing. But this is not a $500,000+ Dino, it's not a $300,000 Dino either, but that feels closer to the value than half a million does. A high miles Dino like this one is not gonna fetch big bucks unless you can prove that Enzo himself owned it, drove it and loved it. There's no John Corbani cachet value that's gonna pull this price up. D
Trash or Truth : The big boys have chosen RED……except one desperate housewife from Germany. Cheers from the rabbit hole
another problem of the car seems to me, that the last owner converted Jon Corbanis car to Euro specs. So the ‚originality‘ of this special car is gone, even it might look better now. Selling it here in Europe for let’s say 230k Euro would have been the better idea.
Uuuuups now everyone finally knows! Another problem of desperate housewives, special the german ones, seems to me, they are literally looking for problems. Unhappy with other people`s solutions.
What this Dino has is soul. It has a great story. It doesn’t matter whether it stays as it is or it gets restored back to as John originally had it in white. It will always be a special Dino for all of us. I don’t think mileage matters on Dinos like this. This Dino transcends it. In any case it’s a perfect canvas for a new owner.
