No, the Lakers and Celtics have actually won a championship in the last decade. The last time Ferrari was relevant was, well, not since Kimi was leading the tifosi brigade.
I won't go into #2 since there is a forum for that here. For #1, that's a great reason. Frankly, I admit I need to study more. I've seen many other drivers, like Schumacher and Max, take similar aggressive stances. I always leave it to the stewards to sort out what is dangerous and befitting a penalty. I don't see him as especially dangerous, is what I'm saying. I'm subjective, though it's an excellent opportunity to look up penalty stats. Hamilton seems quite dovish. https://f1statblog.co.uk/f1-penalty-points/ So two possibilities, either you're right (and I blame FIA) Or do you hate Max even more?
Actually, it's de rigueur in Wall St. to sell on the news and buy on the rumor. So, in this case, the rumor (HAM) is outpacing the news (earnings report).
At the tune of $50M* per year, many drivers wouldn't mind to be journeyman for Ferrari ! * alleged Leclerc salary from 2026 to 2029.
That article is insulting to 95% of the cars in F1 history. Mercedes gives Lewis the 2nd best car over the course of the season and he complains so much he makes people think it's that bad? OMG, so it didn't suit his style. Boo hoo. Fast enough to give him a pole and 3rd in the WDC. This is what we get to look forward to at Ferrari. Ugh.
Do I "hate" Hamilton, personally? No ... i don't know him. I do hate Hamilton's "entitled driving" ... taking corners with no regard for alongside or ahead drivers, as if he's the only car on track. The consequences are deadly, and he rarely gets penalized. Barely a race goes by ... I do hate the "woke culture" that he brings, and personifies, in Formula One. Favoritism by the stewards has been obvious, over the past several years (in aggregate). In contrast, it's quite rare that Verstappen makes a move that ISN'T swarmed upon (literally) by the stewards. Again, singular examples can be pointed out by anyone ... but this is my sense of the sport in aggregate, over the last several years.
If confirmed, Hamilton arrival at Ferrari will be a waking call for Leclerc. He may not be their favourite son for a while, and will feel more pressure, IMO.
At least we will discover what Charles is able to do against a multiple WDC driver. Exciting time ahead!
This thread reminds me so much all the discussions when Hamilton announced leaving Mclaren for Mercedes in 2012..
Absolutely. I despite his push everyone off the track tactic that he made "the norm". He never leaves space. He always blames the other driver even when it's his fault. I think he's overrated. A no doubt great driver, but still heavily overrated. Does he bring enough driving talent to replace Sainz? I put him well above Sainz, but is it enough? I guess we will find out. He constantly throws his team under the bus. He gets way too much special treatment from the FIA and the Stewards. He brings his entitlement and victim mentality to the race track. Drivers show up in their team gear to support the team that employs them. Lewis however wears his clown suits. He has the right to wear whatever costume he wants on his own time, but I think he should represent being a team member while at the track and on the job. It's not a big deal, it's just one other way he chooses to do his own thing by his own rules. Do I want to see a rainbow on a Ferrari F1 racecar? No I do not. But this is a very serious possibility now. Unfortunately when it comes to Lewis Hamilton, his political views, his cry baby attitude and always get what he wants demands infect the team and the entire sport. Lewis the person and Lewis the driver both heavily impact the races we all watch.
This is brilliant news. Going back years on fchat and reading what has been wrote about Lewis joining ferrari, as well as all the comments about how ferrari would not want lewis. Not forgetting all the fchat members would said they would leave the brand. Egg on face's lads
Ferrari F1 is a team where WDC title holders go to fade away. It happened with Alonso, Vettel and now Hamilton. Ferrari haven't made a championship winning car since Kimi 2007 or 2008(WCC).
Again if he thinks he isn’t able to beat a 40 years Hamilton why trying to beat a 27 years old Verstappen ?
Again, I can't and won't discuss 'woke' since there's a forum dedicated to that subject here. I respect and encourage you to stick to your personal political beliefs. For entitled driving, I see where you're coming from. I think in all sports, you have an element of *******ry prima donaism - All? No, that's why I love Leclerc even more. It's almost like he knew in May! Wild if true. https://www.skysports.com/f1/video/36158/12889232/hello-lewis-charles-leclercs-awkward-response-to-lewis-hamilton-rumours
I have to agree. I don't exactly think Sainz was officially a #2 driver, but Leclerc had to be seen as the #1 in some capacity by Ferrari. There is no way Lewis is joining a team to be #2. At best, Leclerc will get equal status and there is a very high chance the car gets developed towards Lewis' style.
I won't go into politics since that's a clear violation of F1 forum rules, though we do have a forum where one is encouraged to do just that! As for the special treatment of FIA and stewards, I admit I'm not privy, so I can't say you're wrong. I don't know. You may be right. Like throwing his team under the bus, I have not heard every radio conversation or backroom slanders. What I'm saying is until I hear a recording of him saying it's his team's fault for losing or FIA giving him a pass that other drivers are not, I'm afraid I subjectively have to disagree. The last FIA thing I saw toward Ham was to provide Max with a world title*. Kind regards.
