    I also far prefer real books, to feel them in my hands, I have been collecting fine historic books since I was a kid. Additionally, though I read a lot of fiction, I was never tempted by E books because I am working on this damned laptop all day, the last thing I want during breaks or during evenings is to look at another screen.

    To answer both of you, well the E version of my book does not weigh 3,8 kilos! So it is nice to have it in the USB or laptop when you travel in case you need to look up some data, research or interview. I have mine in my wallet at all times. So you have the fine book at home and the travel version as a convenient tool always at hand.

    It is one thing if classic cars are just your hobby, passion, but for those whose career actually revolves around these cars, journalists, authors, dealers, brokers, auctioneers, it is very useful to have the data at hand at all times in convenient fashion -as opposed to a heavy book- when you are writing a presentation or answering a client's questions etc.

    Also, very obviously, some books are too expensive for most people but E books would make them available to all.

    Cannot really answer that question, but I like the Bollee & Oosthoek book. The DW book probably profits from new information. My issue with many DW books is that they don't look appealing enough for their price. A good designer could have a positive impact.

    Several of my Ferrari Yearbooks were signed by great F1 World Champions and pilots such as Phil Hill, John Surtees, Jacky Ickx, René Arnoux. Also Ferrari Master Engineer Mauro Forghieri signed some of them. On the second page of the 1963 Ferrari Yearbook Forghieri wrote a little text saying "Con simpatia, dopo una ottima cena" (With sympathy, after a gorgeous dinner) and he added a fantastic drawing: A F1 car, with number 27.

    That's a fabulous collection! The only one I have a copy of is the 1975 one in softcover, no autographs. I wonder how much it's worth today?

    I have never bought an e-book either and of course a physical book is a lot more special to hold and own but the point is they both have a use as @Nembo1777 correctly pointed out.

    Like cash and a credit card, both are useful in certain circumstances.

    What is the issue with putting out an e-book for a sold out book?

    It doesn't detract one iota from the value of the physical book but allows a lot more people to access the information just in a different format.
    Joe Stackey did it with his Miura Bible and they are still selling for crazy money second hand.

    Who knows the sale of the e-book might actually offset some of the publishing cost for the publishers next book.

    Never met the guy, but I guess you're right. For anyone interested, the physical version of his so-called 'Bible' is remaindered by German publisher 'Heel Verlag' for Euro 40,-- . It's in German, but ChatGPT offers a lot these days.

    New book by French "artist" Fernando Costa and his final destruction of a lovely Dino 308 GT4 chassis #08358 into some sort of "sculpture", etc.
    64 pages in color, zero text, hardbound.
    (08358 was born Azzurro Metallizzato 106-A-32 with blue interior, delivered new via Pozzi to Monaco Motors)

    Octane and the Historic Motoring Awards join Hothouse Media’s quarterly Magneto magazine, its annual The Concours Year book, the mould-breaking Concours on Savile Row event and its contract publishing division to form one of the most influential media and events businesses in the global classic and collector car market. The acquisition by Hothouse Media also reunites the original founders of Octane – Robert Coucher, Sanjay Seetanah, Geoff Love and David Lillywhite.
