He’s dead and at this point doesn’t matter. It’s a Corporate entity with all that comes with it! Enzo is not coming back. Todays Ferrari is not yesterday’s.

I don't see how Mission 44 would make Lewis a slower driver.

Oh. OK. So we want Ferrari to take part in F1, but winning is not the most important thing? Sounds like you are more interested in style over substance. I'm honestly baffled about why any Ferrari fan would object to the team employing the best drivers they can get. Villeneuve was adored because he was one of the best. He could deliver results that the car shouldn't be capable of. He was loved as he was a winner.
It was the same when Schumacher was signed. "His personality is wrong". "He's too German". "He does not have the passion". That all changed when he started delivering wins.

    To quote an old man:
“Race cars are neither beautiful nor ugly. They become beautiful when they win.”

Anthony dont you know there are those here who know exactly what narrow view of Ferrari, F1 and the world is acceptable?? Though they are a distinct minority its only what they want that matters but do feel free speech matters............on their terms. Winning matters, the numbers matter in racing PERIOD..

God forbid a personality not match the I know Enzo/turning in his grave/how dare someone wear anything but a team shirt and jeans crowd's narrow version of 'reality' or the world. They use the word snowflake often, yet fail to see the literal blizzard of snow-flakery they are pushing now after LH has announced his move to Ferrari LOL. Pot Kettle LOL.

It doesn't just Enzo wouldn't agree to fund it.

Probably not in 1988. If he was around in 2024 you don't know what he'd agree to to get a driver.

Why does it matter anyway? If Lewis drives well then this is surely good news?

Enzo sets the terms....not the driver.

Toto didn't agree to it which is why Lewis left Mercedes.

    Elkann agreed to it.

OK. But why would it matter, as long as Lewis can bring wins? Wins for himself or Charles. Hopefully Ferrari have sent a signal about how serious they are about turning the ship around and getting back to winning ways. This may well result in some more great hires.

The money doesn't matter at all. Lewis brings value to Ferrari. They'd have to pay him billions to not make a profit from this signing. I don't care about the money. I just want Ferrari to win.

But that's is very much hypothetical, isn't it ?
Hamilton hasn't won recently; in fact he hasn't won a GP since 2021.
So, there is doubt if he can he win again?

    Are you serious William ?
Since 2022 he's driving a far less competitive car.
He has not lost his driving skills suddenly..

I'm just telling you Enzo would have told Hamilton to take the driver deal and not the project deal otherwise there's no deal at all.

OK. Maybe you're right. Thankfully the deal that was done has resulted in the most succesful driver in F1 history coming to Ferrari. That is surely a good thing?

Ferrari is a company just like any other. Saying they are of a certain view or class is missleading. Money talks. Ferrari used tobacco sponsorship, sold cars to hollywood acters, etc. If I go into my Ferrari dealer, they are not gonna ask me how well did I know Enzo, or critique my outfit before they sell me a car. I don't think Enzo asked some one that before he made a deal.

Enzo was strictly about racing...that's it. He sold production cars to fund his racing cars.

Exactly. That's kinda what I'm saying. Enzo only cared about racing. He could care less about a driver's fashion, a certain class, or group of people.

Board level management made the decision. Amazing but thats their right to 'invest' lol. Easily ignored as we care about the track.

No team should focus on funding outside projects. I think Max is starting an GT3 team, Sir Lewis Hamilton has an offroad team, NfL investmeants etc. Both drivers funded those if I'm not mistaken.

If the car is anything like this past season’s, the only way either Leclerc or Hamilton win is by luck/attrition.
