Will Christian Horner's public lynching announce the fall of the House of Red Bull ? One simple incident has sometime huge consequences years later. I don't expect Red Bull Racing to collapse overnight, but to start losing its momentum. The effect could be imperfectible at first, but amplify in future. If this is engineered by some at Red Bull GmbH to soothe their ego and remove a successful individual, they are probably shooting themselves in the foot.
My take is this: I don't think Horner has been the key player in the successful management of Red Bull at all. I knew him when he was an oversponsored wanker driving in British F3 and he had none of the personal qualities you would need to run a ship like Red Bull. For example, I assume you all realise he's not even allowed on the driver radio during the races. The way I see it, all this time he has been nothing more than Marko's muppet, an acceptable face where Marko was not – as evidenced by the doctor's occasional "back in the box" moments over the years. I think it is indeed corporate politics with the Salzburg faction preparing to dump BOTH Horner AND Marko, on the basis that the Austrians are looking to take over completely and if you don't need the beast then why hang on to his beard?
Hence my comment that any Board Level action is serious and time consuming. The literal leadership has called for this investigation. When the Leadership team is personally involved there is more to the smoke and possibly a fire. We should know Friday as the external Attorney has spoken to others and now its Horners turn. We stay intrigued. Thanks for the historical/very inside view with your experience.
You could be right about that, for all we know at this point. There is always the risk, in these corporate reshufflings "to throw the baby with the bath water", and indirectly provoke the departure of more individuals than expected. Time will tell if these sackings won't destabilise RBR, and create a paranoid atmosphere in the organisation. One only need to look at Ferrari and see where that can lead.
Perhaps corporate are looking ahead at the prospects for F1 and have decided that it is time to get out?
Won't matter, you know she's getting paid for this and will be well taken care of. Contracts and gag orders already signed. All untraceable of course
I really doubt that as this move just diminishes Red Bull's value. This is entirely an ego thing. The family or many in management don't like the power and authority Horner has. The problem is, Horner is a large reason why the team has done so well. Good managers produce good outcomes. Their arrogance has blinded them thinking with Horner out the team will be as it always has been. If Horner is ousted this may be known as Red Bull's biggest blunder and the end of their dynasty
I'm well aware of The Sun's reputation but still: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/25768025/f1-boss-christian-horner-grilling-friday-power-struggle-claims/
It must be constantly on the mind of executives of any large company involved in F1. Motor racing isn't their core business, only an instrument. They are businessmen at heart, not sportmen. Once a large company has extracted (or failed to extract) the maximum from F1 in commercial terms (exposure, image, publicity), there is no point hanging around and getting bashed. The best examples are sponsors; they come and go at will. It's more difficult for teams. Red Bull has been at the forefront in many sporting activities, F1 being only one of them. A change of policy is always possible in business spheres. Is Red Bull GmbH looking for an exit door?
Sounds like a snowflake. How did she manage to get into F1 with such an apparent aversion to demanding bosses? She’ll probably turn out to be a caterer….
If it turns out to be 'controlling behavior" than boo-hoo. If you're some sort of 20 something concerned about work/life balance, then F1 is not the place for you. If Christian is sending d-pics, it seems very unlikely that she'd be innocent ... that there wasn't some sort of ongoing back and forth that was largely inappropriate by both parties. It's not like he'd spend all morning talking about budgets or engines and think to himself out of the blue while walking down the hall that "you know what? I bet so and so in marketing would love to see my d*ck. Boom! You're welcome!"
Sounds like a woke storm in a tea cup. If an employee makes an official complaint, it has to be investigated fully and properly otherwise the company is open to a damages claim… In this situation, RB HR will have no choice but to be seen to follow official protocol. So… doesn’t sound like a plot to destabilise, but an exercise in managing woke clowns who should find more suitable careers.
The publicity around this investigation tends to point to a more serious outcome than a mere warning and a note in Christian Horner's file. Bringing an executive in the spotlight is never without a negative effect. My hunch is that Horner has been asked to leave, and refused to. So a case has been built to forcibly remove him.
Not if you’re woke. Basically, they get triggered by all sorts of garbage. You can make a political comment and get in trouble. You can message someone out of hours and they can kick off. It could be absolutely anything that hurts their feelings (in their opinion).
I know that the expression has been used by the staff against management in several famous cases. In the Civil Services, some permanent secretaries of state, and ministers have lost their jobs because of it. That amounts to excessive demands on staff, abusive comments, verbal outbursts, insults, humiliation, harrassment, tantrums, lack of empathy, etc ... Basically create hell for people working around you.
