they're absolutely thrilled with their new car.

 

Ocon with a defiant posture, Gasly looks hypnotised, who is the 3rd one? The simulator jockey ?

I have absolutely no faith in that team.

 

Looks good except for the engine panel graphic line. Does not flow with the body work at all.

 

Alpine says new car front to back. Will be interesting if its actually one to challenge Aston or even Mercedes etc.

 

The livery is barely hinted.

 

And I repeat myself, as yet another almost-all-black-carbon car hits the grid. Night races are going to be impossible in person.

Alpine still looks like last years car. I totally expect them to put on the Red Bull body work for testing. Another carbon fiber "livery" with a a couple stickers. Gross.

Can never trust a render. I expect the car to look quite different in testing. As is, not a very impressive under cut. Interesting mirror mount. It really looks like a slightly updated version of last years car. Even though it's trivial, it's interesting that the first look has #18 on the car.

 

These days every ''car launch'' is just a livery launch, nothing more nothing less.

While the full scale of the Mercedes revisions will not be known until Wednesday, and maybe not even until testing, there is confirmation of one critical new direction thanks to what has been spotted on the new Aston Martin AMR24.

With Aston Martin being a Mercedes customer for its gearbox and rear suspension, the squad has to take the same layout as the German manufacturer.

So, as the first images of the new AMR24 were revealed on Monday morning, the switch to a push-rod rear suspension has pointed to what Mercedes is doing too.

As Aston Martin technical director Dan Fallows explained: “We’ve inherited new suspension from Mercedes.

Yes I know. Zak Brown would like to revert the rules that allow some listed parts to be shared.
He sees that as unfair that teams could share the design and fabrication costs.
