    I don’t have that brochure, but appreciate the suggestion Stephen.

    OTOH, during my nearly 40 years of full time preoccupation of repairing and restoring variety of vintage cars and their parts, I’ve learned not to rely on some of the print information & literature provided by their manufacturers, especially any pre-production marketing/sales related illustrations, photography or technical specifications.

    I could fill a book or two with discrepancies, inaccuracies and misleading information I’ve encountered in OEM sales brochures, parts catalogs and owners-/repair-/service manuals.
    Even just compiling inaccuracies, misleading information, illustrations or photographs I’ve discovered in brochures, manuals and parts catalogs for Daytonas could easily fill a chapter or two.

    I have a small library of decades old OEM repair/service manuals from various manufacturers, some with same instructions and illustrations/photos carried over model year after model year for a half a decade or more while the components themselves and their individual small hardware or parts were changed/upgraded over time, in some case multiple times since their initial introduction, but looking at the later manuals one would think the components, their parts and service procedures are still exactly same and I’ve heard/seen (& continue to hear/see) countless mechanical/technical problems (mix match of incorrect parts or procedures, etc) caused by DIY owners or their mechanics not aware of these changes and only rely on information & illustrations they see in the manual for that particular make/model/year, not to mention many relying on same for restoration accuracies or authenticity reference.

    Will look for all „untouched“ or better pre-preservation pics.
    Some details were touched over the 52 years but the most parts and eras were untouched.
    So pic one is a good example, it looks clean now but is 100% original except the hoses and clamps.

    This is the photo set but for correct restoration i hve to mention that at these early stages often some prototipo
    details can be find which never went into production.
    Here the Nardi (or perhaps more a Daytona Momo) wooden steering wheel and a 330 GTC knob.

    14633 was originally Marrone Colorado, which is one of the best colors available for these cars. Any shade of blue also looks fantastic, IMHO.
    My car has one repaint in Rosso Chiaro, done in 1988. It still looks so good that I probably won't repaint it. Oddly enough, I never liked C4's in red. But when I located and checked out this car, it was SO good that I couldn't pass it up. The red is not a bright red, but a little more subdued. If I was to repaint it, Marrone Colorado would be my first choice.
    Documented from day one, engine never out, 35K miles, very interesting owner history.... stuff I treasure but probably not important to others....

    BTW - here's my first C4, SN 15693, repainted back to it's original color after I sold it. Like CD's car, it is spectacular.

    These pics* and your comment/observations confirm what I said before in post #30.
    Lots of drawings, illustrations, photos and/or technical specifications in OEM pre-production print media, i.e. sales brochures, (first edition) owners -/service -/parts manuals, etc by many manufacturers (including Ferrari) often show details and features that never materialized in actual production cars, yet many owners or restorers continuously use them for authenticity reference without even realizing this.

    This ^^ is also why I've always been more interested in, collected and photo-documented a lot of actual unrestored antique/classic/vintage cars, their components and areas not easily accessible or visible without removal and/or disassembly for rebuilding/repairs/restoration.

    While photos of completely assembled and/or "restored" cars displayed in magazines, online or shows, etc are or can be pleasant to look at, they often remind me of those centerfold girls I was enamored with in my early teen years before realizing there are plenty of them to meet, enjoy time with in person and discover what makes each one tick (kind of like driving or working on intriguing cars, each offering different variety of experiences/pleasures ;)).

    A friend of mine in the uk had one and they had to rebuild the engine at huge cost and time. Had real fun getting the heads off as seized on. I recall the head studs has reacted with the heads

    As per the 365 GTC/4 registry:
    Of the 500 produced, only 41 where built with right-hand drive: 6 for Australia, 1 for Singapore, and 34 for the UK market.

    Although as Christian points out Marcel is the authority on this.

    I'm trying to figure out if the RHD one below is s/n 16089 which has/had UK reg. SPD 684L. I took this picture at Kent High Performance Cars in July 2001. My notes says it has a (dark)blue interior.

    Yes, SPD 864 L is/was 16089.
    Born Rosso Nearco 2.664.032 with Nero Cogolo interior.
    New via Ronnie Hoare's Maranello Concessionaires to Lochlevon/Morrison.

    Hi Marcel,

    Do you have a picture of 16089? I've seen 16089 a couple of times (with reg SPD 864L), but don´t have pictures unfortunately.

    By the way, I've spotted a Daytona at Kent High Performance Cars with a very similar registration: SPD 648L. S/n 16043. Perhaps the same owner as for 16089?

    I love the old Nardi and Momo wooden steering wheels and i always thought the cockpit panel looks
    a little bit to modern for a wooden one but at one point i got a Nardi 60s Anniversario from Dominique Bardini
    (he was part of the 250 GTO anniversario event and was gifted with one of these) and i thought
    it would be nice to have it in the car. Some weeks earlier i recognized that both 365 GTC/4 prototipos
    has a (perhaps Daytona Momo) wooden steering wheel.
    So i build it in with a converter and make it look like build in from day one
    for my love for the old Nardis and Momos and as a reminisce to the press map shown prototipo
    and the arancio prototipo.

    Steering feel is awsome and although i‘m the biggest survivor and original fan, i love it.

    Original leather Momo is in a storage „retirement“ box…
