Nope, not in my eyes, polished hub with same thickness like the horn button part looks very good in my eyes and is optical like a unit. the crinkle painted hub is another part.
Looks great just the way you made the change, Christian. I did not know that any C/4's came with this set-up....and I've seen the pictures you posted many times just didn't notice the steering wheel. Nice addition to a nice car!
Beautiful car with a fantastic engine, great sound and great color. The steering wheel adds a nice personal touch. Perfect.
I agree. As an authenticity/originality/preservation enthusiasts, I generally appreciate the approach with those in mind, but also understand individual “personal touches”. I just always hope any are done so that they’re easily reversible, like Christians steering wheel conversion.
Had a chance to sort out the main problem she was sent in for, but now waiting for weather and roads to clear for full battery of tests. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Marcel, I don´t think I've made myself clear, apologies. I don´t know if the car in the photo in post 45 is s/n 16089. It didn´t have a license plate (it only had a dummy plate with "365 GTC/4" on it). On top of that, I don´t have a picture of 16089, so I can´t compare 16089 with the car in the photo in post 45. That's why I asked if you have a picture of 16089, so I can compare it with the car in post 45.
Ciao Peter, here a picture of 16089 taken Silverstone 97. Best, Miki-Paki Image Unavailable, Please Login
@Bob Zambelli graciously sent me these really neat photos of a few different 365 GTC/4s. Both NY car, I’m pretty sure his friend Jack owned both, correct me if I’m wrong Bob. I think the red car is 15267 but I have no idea which one the white car is, no other good photos. Perhaps Mr. Massini can help? Interesting (15267) the SS strip located below the doors on the rocker panel. I have seen them SS and black..... don't know which was correct or if both were used in the short 2-1/2 year production run.
Seen at Retromobile last week, 1/18 scale, looked really good, except the grille, loved the color, made by Tecnomodel. Image Unavailable, Please Login
@Marcel Massini do you think you could help identifying the white 365? you of all people would know. Sorry for the limited details and photos!
In my opinion the KK-Scale version is better, but it comes in other colours (IIRC blue, black, red and silver). Image Unavailable, Please Login
Non original engine and repainted in a different color, prior to 1998. It's been offered in at least five different auctions since then. Marcel Massini
Here is mine 16075 - Sept. 1972 , Oro Kelso , Beige VM 3218 Sold by S.A.V.A.F Dealership of Geneve Suisse in Jan 1973. Car had a colour change to Blu Ortis in 1993. The interior has been very well loved and is still original. You missed the chrome rear bumper , and no fog lights ! No fog lights like the prototype , must be a very early one.
Presentation to Enzo Ferrari who had a lot to say about the new design trend with this model. Image Unavailable, Please Login
SAVAF (Société Anonyme pour la Vente des Automobiles Ferrari) in Geneva was not just a dealer, they were the Swiss Ferrari importer. Oro Kelso 2.443.214: A total of 23 GTC/4's were originally painted in this color. Kelso was an American thoroughbred (race horse) born in 1957. In the late 60s and early 70s Pininfarina used selected names of race horses for some colors. Marcel Massini
Well, the roads and skies cleared enough allowing a brief (<30 mile) road test with this fine Italian ballerina. During my first rodeo with a C/4, it was interesting how different her characteristics are compared to all the Daytonas I’ve driven. Image Unavailable, Please Login
