Hi all, After 100.000km's took care of the wobbly door-mirrors of my F430 spider. As The same mirrors are installed on the coupe it is a fix for both. Maybe also for Scuds/16M's but those have carbon mirror-housing and can be fine/more ridgid. Anyway, the issue is the to legs of the mirror "opening" up. The top leg has a pin/cap holding it in place, the bottom leg has a turning plate (with the cable running through). By age the distance between the Legs of the mirror widens and the pressure of the top-leg at the pin reduces (also wear can help) and the mirror goes wobbly. By installing a rubber disk (I used the inner-tube repair rubber for a bicycle....) on top of the pin-head the distance is reduced and the wobbly stops. See flexi-rubber disk moulded over the pin-head. Image Unavailable, Please Login In this way the mirror can still be folded instead of the tyraps I see sometimes.... Also I noticed in some cases the turning disk (bottom leg) is installed with 3 small screws at the base. If those loose it has the same effect and the mirror-house becomes wobbly. Same feel/problem but different issue. So check those 3 screws when you are there. The mirror-housing can be opened by removing the 3 star-head screws beneigth the lower leg. DON'T scratch you door-paint and use proper (small) tools (I taped the door paint before starting using paper masking tape)
