It was going for more than $4,000 USD. This was back in 1999.

    I should have bought it.

I still have the Seller's contact information...

the market is fluctuating over time, especially with older handbuilts like amr and Le Phoenix.
A few years back they went through the roof, and the moment they are really affordable.

Its because a lot of the collectors who bought them new, are now selling because of age and other reasons.

I love the older models beacuse of the old school way of modelnaking. They are an art-form, nowadays models are beautifull, but mostly ICT generated.

I'd rather have the buyers information 👍

These sets were done by milano43 so not authentic amr factory build. A lot of parts were done by tron also

I've purchased many models from Paolo Tron over the years, so the "rainbow" is not an AMR sanctioned set even though it was signed by him?

    -------

Seller has many, many rare models. I'm
sure he still knows its whereabouts and I know Seller is not on FChat!

The Rainbow set was an Original amr set, The daytona finish wasn't I think it was built by Either Madeyro or Ceoni.

Just wonderful! These are all off-the-clock amazing.
Out of interest, did you commission the Barnett build of the LM? Or was it already done? That kit is just so rare I think there are only a handful of builders worldwide in whom I would entrust it

    More pictures always welcome (((-:

Reading back this thread, i realised i have been posting here since 2007.
Most models from the early years have moved to another home, but quite a few are still here.
(One cannot have all you want).
Besides that, at one time i ran out of space.
Still have a few “big ones” but most are 1:43 in whitemetal.
Believe it or not ( some think i have a huge collection) i try to keep it to around a 100 pieces.
That way the quality stands out, and its still manageable without stacking them in the 2 cabinets i still have.

In the time i collect a new f40 is now a classic, and i have no interest in newer cars. Its a bit embarrassing but i cant keep them apart nowadays… and it seems Ferrari makes a 4 door suv….

A good thing Enzo never knew…

another great builder (and friend) Ivo Buchs built these amazing models for me.. based on amr kits.

Hans, you know, I am a "1:18 guy", but I love to see all those small beauties!
    Best regards, John
