@gsxrian how do you handle the Ferrari “sell it within six months and you’ll never buy a new car from us again”
That is the problem. The way Ferrari does business now it takes forever to get a new car. At almost 69 it’s difficult to see how it will work out for me.
Its not my car, its one i was offered ... i thought i would pass on the referral to someone who was stuck on a long list, or was fed up waiting!
Correct. Happens often enough. Maybe the person who ordered it passed away before delivery, maybe they had a change in financial situation, maybe they got in an accident and have no interest in cars. There are many scenarios in which the person who ordered the car doesn’t take delivery. FNA may frown upon it but they aren’t going to send the car back to Italy.
Of course no one said it never happens but FNA will not let you switch the name of the buyer in the production process. The dealer gets in trouble. Plus you could do whatever but be ready to burn the bridge! Whether it’s due to accident, finance or death Ferrari will not sell another new car to that individual again. On top the dealer also gets a lash out of it! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Nice! A Spider at msrp - XX's are being produced so the end of SF90 is near. Can't imagine when replacement will arrive - years after deposit, Been so long I don't want to even think about it. My Spider shipped in early December - still not hit NJ.
I’ve personally been involved in this scenario and no repercussions to the dealer at all. Despite what you hear it is not a black and white policy and there are plenty of exceptions and FNA can be fine with it.
Just got word my spider is going into production but in late Spring. Should be a later summer delivery. Dealership said there was a huge pause on production last few months so thats why so delayed. For context, I ordered in Sept 21.
thanks for all the updates I have been stuck at Stage 60 since early December for my sf 90 spider. Sandy
My dealer just told me I will receive the last SF90 Spider they will receive. No firm production date but they assume it will be the 3rd quarter this year.
My dealer said that some on the list for spiders will not get a car. Hard to believe Ferrari would walk away from that $$
This is really helpful info. I am getting one of my dealer’s last spiders as well. Does your dealer estimate delivery in or around December? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Just submitted my final build. The dealer thinks it will be here in 5-6 months. That sounds fast to me. Is that consistent with guys that have already received their cars? Thanks
My final Tailormade build was submitted Sept 2022, my car is currently built and in road testing. Supposed to show up around the end of April this spring. So for a non tailormade build, 5-6 months seems reasonable. I would say if your car has a VIN on the myferrari site that's accurate
