I like it but what was the concept, displaying competing carrozzeria on the same sign?

I was trying to figure out where those two would be on the same sign.

Well, the Bertone-penned 308GT4 was for sale at the same time as the Pininfarina-penned 308GTB/S. But you'd think a dealer sign would have a little horsey on it. Neat piece though.

More likely used for either a motor show set up or panel shop then a dealership IMHO.

Pininfarina produced the bodies for the Fiat Spider 2000. Bertone produced the bodies for the Fiat X1/9. In 1982, Fiat pulled out of the USA market but Pininfarina & Bertone still wanted to sell their bodies in the USA. Malcolm Bricklin created an alliance between Pininfarina & Bertone and imported the cars & sold them under their names.

Fiat Spider 2000 was now called the Pininfarina Spider Azzurra

Fiat X1/9 was now called the Bertone X1/9.

Pininfarina & Bertone made lots of cosmetic, badging, and interior improvements to these cars.

They has a small dealership network and sold these cars new in 1983, 1984, 1985 only. There were only 80 of these illuminated signs ever produced for the Bertone / Pininfarina dealerships. Exceedingly rare & beautiful.

Thanks for the explanation. What are the dimensions of the sign?
