EAG, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

My bad. I thought John Hennessey was somehow “one of the Johns” associated with EAG. I now see that it’s a completely separate topic.

 

I just saw a video where normal guy says he is owned around 400 to 700 thousand dollars. Don’t know what’s going on.

 

I never thought I'd sit through an NGSC video again, but here we are.

If Dan can explain how he came up with the $700k, and can prove he earned it (he drove 100% of sales, and is owed a royalty on every one sold?) then of course he should sue. At the very least, Art is getting more attention to what he's facing, hopefully it accelerates the situation to a resolution.

 

The language he read from the contract was so vague, that a court will interpret it in the most "liberal" sense, meaning from the date of that contract until the relationship was severed, EAG/Black Orchid owes him $2k per install. Unless the contract stipulated with actual metrics, the way it is written favors Hurlbert. He doesn't have to prove he earned it because there were no performance milestones and metrics!

Sounds like to me, based on that video, Art wasn't well represented by his attorney. This can happen when both sides aren't equally aggressive protecting their interests but are getting into a business relationship based on mutual trust. The way he read that section, Dan is actually in a better position than Art, which could be a point of litigation. Just dumb on Art's attorney not to put metrics in the agreement. He needs to wrench and leave the business function to professionals. Classic case of trying to operate above your pay grade.

 

In Dan's defense, he did just that. Or are you going to tell me those screen shots are phony and created as some giant conspiracy to make Art look bad?

Honestly, at this point, I don't even know how to respond to the things you are saying anymore. You have left me speechless. That's truly impressive.

If this is Art (mrp-e), lawyer up because he is out of his league and digging his hole deeper. Personally, I don't want to see Art, whom created a market, screw himself. But he seems to be ignoring every bit of advice given to him.

 

He did explain it. He is owed a certain amount per conversion kit sold. He took the # of conversions for v8 and v12s and multiplied it by the royalty he was owed. He also explained why he didn't sue - he talked to his attorney, it would cost something like $50k and he didn't think he would ever collect on the judgement - you cannot get blood from a turnip. Dan just decided it wasn't worth throwing good money after bad anymore. He only stuck with EAG in the attempt to get the Gated Six investors their money back.

I have met Art back when he had done the first CS conversion. He had a great idea and was able to do the work BUT there was something he said to me that was quite telling. We were at The Driveway in Austin and a guy had 2 Yellow 360s that he wanted to convert. Art said something along the lines of "good luck to him" and "the guy will never be able to get the parts". Basically Art blew the guy off instead of pursuing him as a client. I guess I can say that his attitude left a lot to be desired. Art was a visionary and able to do the work but didn't have the business acumen to be a success in sales.

 

I agree with you fully. I have personally interacted with Art early on and posted about what my interactions were like with him when I told him about a guy interested in converting 2 360s. I will be honest and say that I liked Art when I met him but there was something about him that told me that he isn't the type of person you have running a business; you kept him in the back of the business, away from the customers, and having him doing the wrenching.

 

Ok everyone, I have an update. The Round Rock police department has a great website that allows for the easy search of police reports. I found no police reports at the EAG address or under Art’s name. He is clearly lying, like I have been saying he does. He is accusing people of theft but no police reports. The people he is lying about are the type of people that lawyers will answer calls for even on a Sunday. By posting these lies he is probably going to go broke attempting to defend himself and speed up his demise. To me, the outcome here is obvious, I warned him multiple times that his actions can lead to exactly what I suspect has happened. Bill, If Art is telling you that a police report has been filed, go search for it. My guess is he is telling you that he is waiting for his lawyers to advise on a strategy or some other lame strategy. If you are attempting to help him you should advise him to remove the videos immediately. This is so stupid it is funny.

 

I hear ya. I do seem to be the fly in the ointment. You're responding just fine, don't be hard on yourself. If Dan's claim, and his reach, pushes this faster to a conclusion, either good or bad for Art, for everybody that's a good thing.

I find it fascinating that we had a group of former employees (the nomads, or something. they emailed me trying to get me to move my car from EAG to them) quit and try to make the case they did all the inventing and work. Not sure they've made a conversion since, no idea. Dan also gets in on Art's action. His channel got a great lift off with all the stories of the journey. He claims he too is the drive of EAG's business. Now we have this investor Jon, his guy John, and some third party (Kent from Cosworth) also getting in on it. A series of people getting in on it, falling out... and claiming Art is the problem. Art is impossible? Sever ties. Art committed theft from the company? Call the cops. Art broke a contract? Lawyer. These pages are filled with theories of Art's motive to allegedly steal, he has yachts, jets, cars.. but if you sue there are no... assets to recover? If EAG had inventory, aren't those assets to potentially recover? I'm merely asking questions. And Ferrarichat has never been more engaging.

 

Hey Chris, thanks for checking. No I never heard or read that a police report has been filed yet. No lie. If my car was stollen and I have not reported it yet does that make me a liar? And, please....don't forget to like and subscribe.

 

Come on, I've been here 20+ years this is not Art. I am a customer. Love my 599. It's insane. Trev's software was a bonus surprise. We are DAMN LUCKY to be able to convert these beautiful things. By the way, speaking of lawyers, I wonder if those videos are getting attention from firms willing to help Art on contingency. 2024 will be the year of the conversion wars. And Fchat traffic will hit all times highs. win win win.

 

Lack of a police report on the Round Rock site is not proof that Art is lying. He may be lying, or using hyperbole, but the lack of a police report on a government website means nothing.

 

No good lawyer is going to take this on contingency, that is not how it works. You're not doing Art any favors on this board. I suggest you go away.

I hosted Art, his father and his crew at my home to do my conversion over 5 days. I live streamed it here on FChat. I sold the converted car in late 22 to NGSC whom resold it back out. Outside of his immediate family and employees, I know of no other person that had as much time with Art and his crew than me.

 

Farago who lost money on his Ferrari project claims that the demise of EAG was solely Art's fault.
Who was managing the finances? Solely Art? Not likely. Were the big money investors in the dark? Also not likely.
The truth will tell the tale. Everyone needs to take a breath.
Is Farago tooting his own horn as some investigative guru?
He makes claims about which he may be invited to answer in a court of law.
Is Farago trolling or just a blowhard? Methinks sour grapes as well.

 

Did Farago introduce the alleged chauffeur to Art, who then foolishly leased a Range Rover in his name and let her use it once she was hired so she had wheels to get around? Others have said it. This needs to be a docu-series.

 

Hyperbole? Dude are you for real? Didn't he say "literally robbed me"? Trying to spin that as hyperbole is a joke. Lack of a police report at the EAG address and under Art's name means he did not file a police report. I am having a hard time understanding why that needs to be explained. Art is accusing people of robbing him, he should file a police report before doing a video.

If you care about him at all tell him to report the alleged theft to the police or remove those lie filled videos. Do you understand the consequences if he is lying?

The people reading this can decide for themselves if I am sounding credible. I just heard some disturbing new information from a highly credible person. If what I heard is true, stupid people are doing very stupid things. I wont share details and I don't care if you whine about that. Keep trusting the guy with the Felony theft background.
