296 Modifications and Warranty

It's going to depend from dealer to dealer. In Seattle the policy is they don't report modifications to the manufacturer. By law, they would have to prove that the modification caused the problem to void a warranty, but reports are Ferrari has actually made life really difficult for owners with modifications. I haven't had that experience. I've done a muffler delete and replaced the brake lines with braided stainless steel on my F8 and my dealer knows about it and just says to keep the OEM parts so they can be reversed if necessary.

I did ask about Novitec exhaust and they said the same thing...keep the OEM parts. Just to be safe they said they would do the work themselves. I ultimately just did a simpler muffler delete from Fabspeed instead though

 

Did the brake lines do anything?

I track my F8, 12 track days this year, and along with racing brake fluid, it handles higher brake temps better. The brakes feel the same once warmed up until the end of my track day

 

Do you happen to find any aftermarket pads for 296?
It is annoying knowing I will have to stick with stock pads for upcoming track day

 

I wonder if it uses the same pads as the F8? The 458, 488 and F8 use the same pads...I got Pagid RSC1 pads once my OEM pads wore out

 

I contacted Pagid, and they told me the pads are different from 488, and they don't have plan on making RSC1 for 296 yet.

How long would OE pad last on demanding track? Tracking a Ferrari is so much harder than I thought.

 

The OEM pads lasted 8 track days for me, the fronts were about 90% done after that. Rears were around half worn, but I replaced the whole set

What about disks? Do you know what’s their current shape, how long they’re going to last? Thinking to track 812, will probably use a bit more of the brakes.

I did
