...unlike Europe, the early west coast club events were not big spectator draws...if you know Sears Point, you're looking at the paddock across 11...from the east

Back in the mid 1970s at FOC track events at Riverside we regularly had both Steve Earle and Stoney in their GTOs. At the end of the day they liked to do a tandem run nose to tail. One of the times I was riding with Stoney for that run.

Are you sure , to me it looks more like 3607GT . Or did 5095GT like 3607GT had the same lines on the side of the car and vents behind the doors ?

Tavano had 5095 GT. Not 3607 GT.
See also page 189 of the book "Dans les pas de Fernand Tavano".

I don't disagree that 5095GT was the number 109 in 1964 (don't have pictures or the book about Fernand Tavano )but this is in 1965 (22 March) so I'm still convinced this picture is 3607GT with Annie Soisbault .I have a picture from the FF Galleria clearly showing this car dated 20-03-1965 (wrong date ) with the note: noenr 4335 ,Rall. ACO ,3607,Soisbault-Roure ,copyright DPPI Levallois .

Photo was taken at a time when that was a realistic price.
3769GT was 'sold' by its long-term owner, the late Gordon Barrett, at The Auction in Las Vegas in November 1991.
In reality, as Gordon explained to me, he traded the GTO (and then it was run through the sale and 'sold' as publicity for the event) and received in exchange; the ex-Judge John North 1932 Paris Show car Alfa Romeo 8C 2300, the ex-E.P. Lunken Ferrari 275 GTB/4 and other consideration.

Marcel is of course correct and that photo was taken at the Rouen circuit's hairpin, epingle du nouveau monde.

"Joe Marchetti had somehow gotten his hands on the first 288 GTO anyone had ever seen (sic, in the US)—the franchised dealers couldn’t get them yet—which was the first-ever turbocharged Ferrari GT and, based on the lightweight 308, possessed of absolutely scalding performance. Ever the showman, Joe had it hidden, of all things, inside a small, odd-looking mound of hay, right in the middle of the show field. He scowled darkly when he told people the landscapers had left it behind and that heads would surely roll because of it. At exactly the right dramatic moment, the 288 fired up and came exploding out of that haystack like it’d been shot from a cannon. Well, that was Joe."
Yes, it did explode out of the hay; Joe certainly did put on a party that day! That is my silver 250GTE #4959 in the middle of the GTE enclave. Oh, and of course, Joe convinced Brian Brunkhorst to bring his 250 GTO #3705 to complete the show.

Why a picture of a 308 GTS to illustrate sentences about the 288 ? OK, just to show the 250 GTE o_O
