I used leatherique leather cleaner on my seats and afterwards I noticed that it looks like there is something flaking off of them. Anyone else experience this? Is there a fix other than taking it to a leather shop to have it stripped and refinished?

First one on these seats. After watching some videos, I reapplied to the areas that still look shiny. It may (hopefully) just be dirt.

The seat may have been restored with leather spray on that bit and the cleaner your using is very strong, is that the only part of the seat thats gone like it? You may have to re spray that area.

That’s a high wear area. I’m with the others, it seems there was a repair/re-dye in the past and the cleaner is removing the top layer of that.

It seems like whatever it was, most of it came off with a second application and some elbow grease. The seats are way softer and more supple now after application of leatherique. Thanks to everyone that helped!

Oh yeah, big improvement! I wonder if the comments above are on to something with the repair/re-dye theories, as that's the area where it's usually done. But I'm glad you have it looking 10x better now.
