Thanks. It would be appreciated if you would let me know your outcome.
My 488 GTB (in UK) is doing precisely the same thing. In for a service on Friday and still under Ferrari Power Warranty, so hopefully will be fixed.
And the update is that the firmware update is 500 euros plus tax and labour. Not covered by the power warranty according to UK dealership. Disgusted.
Unbelievable. I have been told that firmware updates take 48-72 hours are chargeable and with labour tax and so on could be around £1000. Has anyone on this forum actually paid for the software upgrade and was it done whilst you wait?
Well the service person said they have to download the code, send it away and wait for it to come back......But is it a firmware update or software?
This happened to me today, I disconnected the battery for about 3 minutes, all fixed. That’s the answer for me at least. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
It’s a software upgrade for the radio/amplifier unit. My car has just been done and was 2 upgrades behind where it should have been. Hopefully all fixed now.
Do you happen to know the version / revision of the firmware they installed? or could you take a picture of the “system information” screen on right screen in settings
I own a 458 and had a infortainment system failure I did some researching and found the aftermarket service center in the USA You might contact them for a similar repair center in your country United Radio, United radio.com https://maps.app.goo.gl/187mmASDEMZkTN8i8?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy My dealer was clueless and sent me to a guy who only sold aftermarket systems which didn't integrate For good or bad i liked the factory system Most of the time the CAN is fine Just send the unit itself (Becker Harman)
Damn, I just ought a certified 2018 and mine appears way out of date! thank you for sharing this info!
2016. The tech said mine was two releases behind. He had the latest version on a memory stick and it took about 30 minutes mainly as he had to upload each upgrade sequentially. And free of charge. The other main dealer wanted almost $1k.
saw this on the f12 forum, apparently it’s a current 812 version. fascinating. i wonder if it’s compatible. I know we never will, but it would be wonderful to actually see a version history with changelog or fix/feature notes. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Agreed. Very poor from Ferrari. I can’t guarantee that mine is the latest version even for the 488 but the good news is that it fixes the issue with the sound not coming on.
let’s try to keep an informal list of versions we come across, with a note regarding the platform they were on. could shed some light
Here was my almost $11k solution at Ferrari. A new NIT. Apparently their failure along with the the transmission gear selector switch in the transmission are the 2 biggest failure points at the service department. I've encountered the 1st. lol
Yeah but I like the right side screen working properly, and I like the infotainment system and all the functions and features. I have the old one. I'm gonna find out what was wrong with the help from some friends in the business.
