Dig it in a Scimitar sort of way - cloudy and damp, Susan George ridin' shotgun, Radio Free Europe on the dial, driving as the crow flies ...?

The side profile looks a bit like a lifted Lancia Delta Integrale. :)

I'd like to see whether it has the usual dystopian EV interior before saying whether I like the whole car or not, but the exterior is pretty nice.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I just don't see the appeal of the Celestiq itself:
    • A big luxury GT/sedan with only a 300 mile range.
    • No separation of cargo area from passenger compartment, so items can come flying forward between the rear seats in a crash.
    • Very high lip to clear to even get suitcases into the cargo area. Good luck getting the case inside without scratching all that aluminium.
    • Interior material selection was made a big deal, but all the brushed aluminium and carbon fiber look doesn't really feel luxurious - it feels more like a sports car theme, where you're trying to minimize lines to save weight, simplify manufacturing, or create a minimalist theme to not distract from driving.
    • Jarring against the minimalist shapes of the doors, dash, and tablets, are the little intricate patterns everywhere... in the doors, on the center console, and in the roof (!!), which all look kinda finicky.
    • The rear ¾ is still weird.

Some of what they talk about in terms of production methods is interesting, but I don't think that makes the Celestiq appealing as a car itself - I still don't want one. It's more valuable as just a technical exercise.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Andrew, I believe you've summed it up quite well.
And it's much more polished than my peer's responses.

Now that I can see it in real world context I think its pretty hideous, though i do like the interior.

As a measure to silence the "how come the production car never looks like the show car" dude, it's not unreasonable? Hugger Orange to further disturb the polarizing-means-bad crew - cryin' out for a little foil spoiler, call it Carousel Red, and we're cookin' w/Crisco!

IIRC, the 1965 Buick Skylark "seemed" to be the first car to feature wall-to-wall taillights. However, in actuality, the lights didn't fully cover the entire width. When illuminated, there was a small gap where the chrome Buick logo emblem is located.

Hard to argue w/the Eldo, but would put that beauty in the zip code! '67 Cougar first w/sequential taillights?

    Close but no cigar!

My new AI Friend Perplexity came up with this:

The first car with sequential taillights was not the Ford Mustang but the 1964 Ford Thunderbird. This innovative feature separated the rear taillights into three bulbs, allowing each to light individually in a sequential pattern. Although initially intended for the 1964 models, it was delayed until 1965 due to legal compliance issues. The system used a turn signal switch and a sequencer with three cams to trigger the bulbs in sequence. Ford later shared this technology with other models like the Mustang-based Mercury Cougar in 1967, the Shelby GT500 in 1968, and the Chrysler Imperial in 1969. Modern Mustangs have also incorporated sequential taillights, adding a stylish touch to these vehicles
