812 Replacement Rumors

LOL, almost as bad as the AI-generated ‘prediction’ based on F12 in this thread that looks like it slid sideways into a tree.

But seriously folks, not a bad car with good proportions and some interesting features (not the car-swallowed-by-a-car rear though) but the surfacing on the doors is so tortured that even the light hitting it is confused about where to go next.

 

The side view of the 812 is overdone but the GTS is a bit better because at least it´s lost the line that came down from the roof.

Anyway, I still prefer it to the F12 because that rear bumper... for me it´s unforgivable. You can see that in some early sketches it was not a bad idea, but in the final design it doesn´t work. In the screenwritting jargon, some would call it a "dinosaur", something that was left from an earlier version of the script but doesn´t fit anymore.

I like mine, even with the top up. In fact, I think it's a great looking car that is both muscular and elegant at the same time. It might not be as "pretty" as an F12, but it's its own deal.

I think the few of us quieted down the 812 haters for now lol. Let’s see what the F167 brings. No matter, I’m not giving up the 812gts. Never.

In a lecture given in 2014, Flavio Manzoni said: “The principles of our bosses specifically Mr. Montezemolo are very strict. A new Ferrari should be new, original, we don’t want any kind of dèjá vue". We know that Luca di Montezemolo imposed principles left by Enzo. Do the current bosses at Ferrari still share these principles?
Flavio Manzoni worked for around four years under the authority of Montezemolo, whom he greatly respected. Although Montezemolo was not exactly like Enzo or Jaguar'sSir Lyon that personally approved almost everything regarding the new cars, I am convinced that he would never approve a Manzoni's design that he thought could distort the Ferrari aesthetic.
Although Manzoni is very capable in the art of designing cars and Ferraris, as a human being he has to be scrutinized. Are the current bosses at Ferrari capable of analyzing, criticizing or even rejecting any less achieved design presented by Manzoni ? If they are not is there a body at Ferrari that performs this function?

 

Don't forget that they ditched the original design of the PS. So someone is watching.

I remember the rumor when Mclaren showed the P1 Ferrari changed the rear of LaFerrari as they look a lot alike (True/False) no idea gut say false

Does anyone have an accurate guess on pricing? The last 812 GTS MSRP pricing I could find looked to be around 430K. I know it initially started at roughly 363K before the price increases. The last 812 Superfast MSRP I could find is roughly 360K. I'm assuming north of 400K as a start... but do we think the coupe would be over 450K? Convertible over 500K?

 

Pretty sure a F167 spider heavily optioned will easily hit $600k usd.

Here is my accurate guess on pricing. Coupe $485k usd. Spider $545k usd. Both are base vehicle with zero options added.

 

Think that’s spot on, across the pond was told 450,000€ base for Coupe, no mention on Spider price.

 

Wow. Those pricing numbers are huge. Add 20-30% for options. Not entirely unexpected, but still, I’m sure they will sell every single one of them.

 

I think you’re looking at total ‘out the door’ window sticker pricing at around $600k usd, with options, for most cars, and Tailor Made cars will average $700k usd.

 

As they get closer to hyper car prices when you figure in the options, there’s less excuse for not going smaller, lighter and more nimble if that route costs more money. Then we won’t need the huge horsepower numbers. My guess is they won’t, they’ll just keep treading the same path. I hate to think how bloated and heavy these cars will be in the future. If I read the comments correctly expectations are that the 167 will be slightly smaller than the 812 - a good thing. If it has the Purosangue suspension then probably heavier - for me not so good.
