Never had the feeling of dread described before driving one of our Ferraris. But definitely did before driving my 1974 MGB/GT.

No sinking feeling. Quite the opposite with 355 Ch. Or past 3x8s. Key for me is baselining (and therefore knowing) the car…whether Porsche or Ferrari.

I’m sure for some who care about residual value they get that sinking feeling as the miles pile up on their Ferrari. Not me. My last 4(2 V8 and 2 V12) I put over 5K miles per year on each of them(on average kept each 2-3 years). No problems other than the start/stop function on my 812 would usually malfunction(hooray for me!)
Meanwhile my latest MB Maybach S680 has spent 8 visits to the dealer in the first 6 months for electrical failures- dead or dying batteries, error codes galore and electric windows getting stuck- and this is their top of the line sedan!
Too much electronics in new cars- the MB dealer said there are over 150 microprocessors in the big Benz and finding the culprit for electrical loss is hit or miss at best. It seems to be finally resolved but I every time I get in it I say a little prayer before hitting the start button.
I say a little prayer before I light up my Ferrari but it’s for light traffic and no law enforcement along the way!
