I don't think so. That "bulge" on the roof is probably a roof peak of a building in the background. But then again, all the rail cars pictured appear to be in a scrap yard and the upper raised structure may have already been removed.

I understand what you are saying, but after looking at the 2 photos even more closely, I think that the roof bulge is indeed part of the rail car and not in the background. The front slope is being hit directly by sunlight and is washed out in the photos. The rail car behind it has a similar appearance. The shape matches a BUDD Amfleet car, but the front fascia is all SPV. The livery is spot on for being a former ConnDOT set of SPVs. However, I'm not able to find any paper trail that states any remaining cars ended up out west except for one, that went to CALTrain. Quite a fascinating mystery regardless!

Off to the first club ride of the year :

Perfect day yesterday... great 30 mile drive to the meeting point for a fast 50 mile club ride.

It's rather cool that the Mondial is low enough that I don't need to pull the bike off the rack before rolling into the garage.

The Mondial has old style drip rails, so this 80’s Thule rack fits fine for the load bars, then anything can attach to them.

I hauled ten 2x4’s back from home depot with the Mondial and the old roof rack a couple years ago when they couldn’t get parts for my Toyota SUV. Worked great and sure got a lot of attention.
