Yes, I would probably program it to send multiple up-shift commands in rapid sequence. That does seem to work okay when actually using my fingers, although I'm not sure how "quick" the computer would be able to do it and have the transmission react properly.

Fun thought experiment though. By now, I'm sure a bunch of you have figured out what I'm thinking of doing. I've told a few people, and they think it's a bit dumb, but perhaps worth a try? Installing a gated shifter that has electronic controls attached to it, along with some "detents" to make it feel like a real shifter. Then that would control the shifting of the car instead of the paddle shifters. It could be a really trick project, or it could be stupid. At the worst, it would be similar to my driving simulator when driving it without a clutch? :)

Just a small observation...when using a Leo , launch etc and I select any gear it turns pump on ..this doesn't happen when you use paddle...so I believe using/copying the message that the diagnosis tool uses /sends is probably not ideal

So you want to do what EAG lied about and claimed they did with the 458 gated :)

What's the claimed shift speed of the F1 gearbox?
