When ordering, there was the option of either a red, or green carrying bag. I never received the other green cover.

Also missing from this picture is the silver colored tube that came with the book, containing 3 wonderful x-ray prints. I ordered my copy from Brandon Wang too, including the (in my case) red carrying bag. Paid Euro 6k (shipping included), That was in 2000.

Are these reference books or book shelf trophies? If there isn't meaningful content the book is of no use(or value) to me.

A couple hundred period pix, large format. Plus modern ones in color as well.

In the end, both Hermès and Coach serve the same purpose.

Apropos of nothing when buying a book avoid evri. I’m uk based and now for the umpteenth time they have got it wrong and seem incapable of communicating with receivers.

Well, I did buy it, and I love it! It is important to point out what it is not: it is NOT a narrative history of the races (Richard Williams' book "24 Hours" does a decent job of that), nor is it a reference work (I like Quentin Spurring's by-the-decade series for Haynes and Evro).

What it is, is a "scrapbook history" of the race, with lots of 4-page spreads showing changes in the race over the century, in areas like: the course, the cars, the regulations, safety, uniforms & helmets, timekeeping, scrutineering, etc.). Also biographies of important people, listings of winners from different countries, comparisons of cars that raced against each other, etc. It is a nice "coffee table" book to just pick up and breeze through at certain times.

I’ve been reminded that I’m searching for a copy of this book if anyone has one….or knows of one…for sale. The somewhat generic title makes it awkward to search for.

    Thanks.

    Jack.

gilena in Italy (I have no affiliation) seem to have copy(ies) in stock. I don't know whether their price is fair though.

John, I think the one you posted only covers the 456, but not the 456M, whereas the one I’m seeking covers both.

    Thanks.

Hi Mark, but content is identical with the standard 'Sportscar Heaven' book and not the high-end 'Rivals' book, isn’t it?
