Nice work. You had a pretty good base of concrete on your existing floor to begin with. How thick of a base did you go with on the new platforms for your lifts? Is that you in the pics? If so, your a pretty handy dude.....and you make great sketches in the F167 thread too!

I am planning to add a lift to my garage. Since I am counting inches, I needed to swap out my garage opener from the traditional overhead chain/belt mount to a side mount. I also needed to raise my garage door - slam it as close to the ceiling as possible. This was step one in my process. I purchased a four post lift, which I am using for storage only - not for work on my car. The lift should be installed in the next few weeks. I will post photos of the installation process.

I have the same door system close to the ceiling. What lift did you end up choosing?

I’ve spent the last month or so cleaning and improving the garage I keep my Ferrari and my toolbox’s in.

My goals are simple: clean the damn place. The previous owners kid had an undercoating business that he ran out of the space. Rubber splatter was everywhere. I’ve pecked away at the space when I’ve had time, but it’s been really tough to get clean.

Get better lighting up. I don’t have pics of the old light. It was dim to put it nicely.

The cinder block wall was cleaned, bleached and dry locked. I preferred keeping it white as opposed to making epoxy look good on it.

Windows needed to be framed in. I’ve got one left to go.

I had the floor epoxied. Really glad I farmed that job out.

I just got baseboard molding and am going to try and paint it tonight.

My ultimate goal is to get the garage to house my Ferrari and nothing else. Better yet, keeping two Ferrari’s in. :)

I’ve got another building I want to make in to a shop, but my pool build is going to eat my shop money for this year.

The company that I am using to provide and install the lift is:

    www.sarlifts.com

I am on the East Coast and they do mostly commercial work - auto dealerships, etc.

I believe the lift manufacturer is Direct Lifts. The lift is being installed on March 26 - I will post photos, verify the manufacturer, etc.

My lift was installed today. Took three people approximately 2.5 hours. I was expecting the lift to be anchored to the garage floor. However, while the lift has bolt holes there is no requirement for anchoring. Additionally, it comes with four wheels that enable one to move/roll around the lift - I could roll it from one garage bay to the next. The following are a few photos of the process. This is my first lift, so it has been a bit of a learning process. Worst part was diving my F8 onto the lift for the first time. There is little to no room for error.

Two of the prettiest cars of the 90’s! The insulation beats the hell out of being cold. :)

The idea for the ceiling is stained tongue and groove pine. With 6 2x4 flush mount LED panel lights

Gotta finish off the back wall with the dry wall, then I'll call a crew in to do the ceiling work. Stuffing that R54 up there was bad enough.

But the car projects have started taking over..but I'll get it done soon enough.
