Well friends, looks like the stars aligned today. During a casual conversation about a 296 the sales manager had on the floor I mentioned that I was on a waitlist for a 296 GTB at another store and he said he had an allocation for that car for immediate ordering! I've already signed papers and paid the deposit LOL.

The funny thing is after I tried to cancel the waitlist and get my deposit back from the first dealer, the SA said that I was awarded an allocation last week but he was waiting to get final confirmation to let me know. I was advised in order to avoid duplicate orders and rejection I should request cancelation in writing and ask for proof of refund once the deposit is returned as proof that I'm going with the new dealer, which I did.

My new SA will be showing me a few sample builds tomorrow with renderings to help guide me in the configuration process. Very excited! Delivery late 2025 or possibly sooner. Any suggestions and insight would be appreciated as this is my first Ferrari.

I cannot believe two different dealers were so helpful in letting you change dealers. Normally they just want to hang onto the order .

Perhaps they have a long list willing to pay top dollar to secure an order.

The first dealer was very unwilling to let go. I was guided by my second dealer how to handle the cancelation :)

The second dealer does not want to end up on an allocation call with the first dealer , the discussion would be interesting to say the least. The second dealer must have been in a bind to sell the allocation . You seem to have found luck !

First Ferrari! Excellent. So many options to choose from. But this is your car. What do you like in general (exterior and interior colors) and how will you use the car (GT or super car?) we can give some opinions from there?

@Jo Sta7 thank you for your reply. I spent about an hour on the phone with my SA yesterday. This a CdF over Rosso Fx. I'll be using the car mostly on long freeway drives or just admiring it in my garage taking in the entire experience of Ferrari ownership. Here's a couple of images on the proposed spec. Includes matte CdF painted wheels, Black exhaust tips, carbon center console and steering wheel, full adas with surround, hifi, leather headliner, axle lift, leather mats, etc.

How is it that the dealer has an allocation ready to order and you won't receive it until late 2025? That doesn't even make sense. If the order goes in now, the build process should start really soon and you should be getting it by the fall or early winter at the latest.

@Excelsior The order was entered into the system last week. I have a screen shot with dealer order number and customer ID. Delivery will be in 2025 since the order has to be accepted then production has to begin. I was told the same production line is used for all models build by Ferrari. This is my first time doing this so that's all the info I have at this time?

I found a 296 GTB allocation and was told the same thing, orders now would be approximately 18-24 month wait until delivery? seems like most F dealers have a GTB allocation right now..

Did you already place the order? My SA said production could begin by October. I now have access to my order in the My Ferrari app but still no VIN.
