Great info, and with that in mind (for my CDN car), I'm converting the "blank" button switches to ECU test buttons. But the internals need to be modified (switch locking disabled) so that they're momentary push button switches.

These light switches cost about $11 each (depending on their original intended use).

The button caps, or faceplates, pop right off and I'm going to stay with the unmarked caps.

    Hi Gents,

I have been searching in Ferrarichat on more details on how to connect a push button to trigger the diagnosis in the Motronic 2.7. I have a F355, 95, for European market.

From all I read, the button is the same as the 348. But the most important thing for me is how to wire it, or maybe where to buy the connector.

I downloaded the WSM and have a clear understanding how to read the codes, page C47 onwards. I considered myself a good DIY mechanically speaking but when it comes to reading wiring diagrams... I am a disaster.

Could someone help me with a couple pictures for wiring into the connector, or perhaps where to find the connector?

Eurospares have it in the diagram, but no part numbers.

    Thanks,
    Fred

Can I suggest that you start a new thread? The 355 is very different from the 348 when it comes to wiring. Plus there seems to be more tech responses to 355s than 348s.

Would the 215 Diagnosis socket be on a 1989 348 TB? I'm not seeing a button or a socket.

Probably not present on Motronic 2.5 but others can inform if have seen (or have) it. The diagrams I have for 2.5 show neither socket nor push-button.

    Ian,
    1. I can see that you have included the socket and push-button on your diagram for Motronic 2.5. Did you take it from any 2.5 diagram that shows these parts?
    2. Your diagram for Motronic 2.7 does not show connections of the push-button correctly. They should be between the wires "A" and "C" of the socket (between wire colours HR and HM). This diagram (M2.7) was provided by Wade some time ago:

I think I was improvising with the 2.5 diagram after someone told me about the pushbuttons :p

I'm not sure where I got this pdf 2.5 pinout file...

I'll change my 2.7 diagram, but someone must have given me some wrong information about the wiring from the switch to plug 215a. I don't think I improvised with that one. Or I may have got my information from a photo.

Is there any way to check codes on the early 348 ecu?
